i just got my Coach builder TRD Pro upgrade kit from David at Ekstrom designs. According to David, his local Toyota dealership can do an install with about 3 to 4 hours in labor. I took my kit to my local dealership and they quoted me 11 hours of labor for install. That’s almost 3 times what David says it should take. I told them it sounded like they were really not interested in the business. They claimed that they do redi lift installs and that take 8 hours of labor and “The lift you want requires removing rear springs and putting in press to remove bushings.” which requires additional labor. Obviously I am calling around to try to get more estimates but I was curious what everyone else was being charged for install for Coachbuilder, Toytec, Redi lift, etc. As always, thanks for your input.

Yes. The same place Roman is. I get my service done there but I’ve never bought a car there. Their prices aren’t competitive or so I’ve found. So I wasn’t that surprised when they quoted me so much on the lift.

It's a dealership. Any aftermarket install you are more than likely going to pay top dollar or get raped on the labor.

4 wheel parts did an awesome job on my lift and were priced fairly

Doesn't hurt to get a quote. I would say they are on the pricey side as well.
I am not from your area so I can't suggest much.
Have you thought about attempting yourself? You can rent a press from a local auto store, and everything else is basic hand tools.

Get a buddy with tools and two cases of beer. Will be done sooner than you think. Huge savings.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
If you feel the work is beyond your skills, I would suggest that you get quotes from the local 4x4 custom shops closest to you.
Don’t waste time with this dealership.
I did the rear CB shackles, bushings and carrier drop on my truck alone without a lift in about 3 hours, leaving the springs on the truck. I had help and a lift for the shims in front, and it took about 2 hours.
Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

I’m afraid it’s a little more project than I am confident tackling myself though it would be fun. Buddies and beer might work.

It’s not fun lol. Took my buddy and I about 7 hours to do leveling kit/diff drop/wheel spacers. Not without a handful of headaches and bloody knuckles

Took me a good 20 hrs by myself. Only thing I couldn’t do was tire mount and alignment. Was totally worth it!

You can do it man. All you need is the right set of tools and the right amount of prep. I was able to get my leaf spring bushings out pretty easy, just rented a 4x4 adapter for the ball joint press at O'Reilly auto parts. Didnt take me more than 2 hours for the rear shackles install.

I was charged 500.00 for the install.
