This one took me forever to get started. I tried contacting Excide, they expressed NO interest in this. I contacted Optima and they pretty much ignored my constant requests for a discount. I couldn't get a vendor to provide discounts on Odyssey.

Northstar, on the other hand replied and directed me to a distributor that's more than willing to work with me with this one.

some of that pricing is off, it is showing more cost for 21+ than 1-10. Texted vendor to see what's up.

I must be missing something but what is the warranty?

 

please check the northstar website, it varies.

 

Also, the MAP are wrong for 2020 on many of the batteries...for example a 31 and 31M

 

the website pricing is probably MSRP, not MAP

Has any one ever had issues with a battery? How was the warranty process? I’m on the fence as the tundra is my DD and if I have no place to pick up a battery I can’t be with out a truck for days

Thank goodness for site cross posting. Now I don’t feel as worried in hitting quota.

 

I bought one(27F) from one of Ramon’s earlier group buys on tacomaworld. Its a couple years old now and has been rock solid. Before that I went through 3x odyssey batteries and their auto/truck sizes are absolute trash. In fact my current battery(napa) in my FJ is at the 5 year mark so I am jumping in this group buy for a northstar for it. I too was worried about the warranty process but luckily I didnt need it and hope I wont for the new one. Northstar is the manufacturer of the X2 Power at Batteries Plus, but no idea if it is the same quality or components since they could be built to Batteries Plus requested specs.

Something I forgot to add is that there is no core exchange for the group buy. So in theory you could set your current battery in your garage incase you do have a issue you can at least be mobil.

 

I could not wait, got mine last Friday and got her in. The 5 year warranty to a place local was the key for me plus the price
