How are y’all cleaning your undercarriage after snow storms? Trying to find a good way to clean off all the salt. I have been looking at the Ryobi attachment for my pressure washer but am not sure how well they work.

let me know how you are doing it. I don't trust going to the local gas station car wash.

I roll over to the carwash with my ramps in the bed. Drive the front end up on the ramps, and hose off the bottom as best I can. Rough on the knees though. I also try to make sure I have fluid film on the vulnerable bits before winter hits.

I've used a sprinkler, just start in a corner, let it sit for a bit and slide it around.

I fluid film everything underneath before the snow flies. I don't do anything all winter cuz I'd rather not rinse any fluid film off. In the spring I use a sprinkler and then foam and power wash. My frame looks new after 5 winters in New England.

Those attachments work very well. In the event that you do not want to bring out the pressure washer, here's a link to one that attached directly to the hose:

    https://www.theunderwasher.com/

A friend of mine has one and it works well also. He attaches a short garden hose to the utility sink in his laundry room and rinses with warm water in the garage as soon as his car comes inside.

Does the fluid film wash off pretty easily?
I like that. It would be nice to not have to use the pressure washer for this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes. You can spray it off with a pressure washer. Lots of info on it on here and the web in general. Wool Wax and Krown are similar products, but I have no experience with them.

Warning: Fluid film smells like a dead wet skunk for a day after application. Small price to pay to keep your frame in good shape.

I Amsoil’d my undercarriage before the Nashville Snowpocalypse hit us, but I still want to wash the salt and sludge off the underside of the truck.

Any tips for cleaning underneath while temps are still below freezing? Or should I just wait?

having a local car wash that has very warm water occasionally hot water( most dont due to cost off installing tanks ) helps i use the self serve bay and give it a good clean out

I am going to have to remember this routine. Pudge, were you the one who did the write-up on self application of the Fluid Film? I've got to track that down as well. After many years without, Idaho is back using salt brine. I really don't know what is worse...the magnesium chloride or salt. Either way, it sucks!

Yeah i use fluid film. So far so good. I use tha gallon cans, sprayer and compressor. If you end up with aerosol cans, I would look into amsoil HDMP.
After 6 winters in New England, the last 4 of which I owned it and used fluid film. This was taken last week.20210309_120655.jpg

    Not sure at this point.
I usually run my Tundra through the car wash for an undercarriage wash prior to washing the truck. Then I’ll get my foam cannon and shoot under the body.

Going to get FF this upcoming season though.

That undercarriage shot just sold me on FF or other as a necessity. Can’t believe how much havoc the salt wreaks.
