Nabbed this thing for a little over $2k. Gonna give it to the mother-in-law as she doesn't have a running vehicle. I know it aint a Yota but even the wife was sayin she'd drive it around.

If it has the 4.0L, it's as beast for sure. Not the most reliable SUVs, however, the other than the auto transmission, they are pretty solid. For $2k you got a reall good deal.

It does have the 4.0L. All lights work, gauges work. Power door locks inop though.

Not surprising. The ZJ electrics can be a nightmare. Chances are there's a broken wire in the boot between the door and body. Not a hard repair just not a lot of room.

Nice find though we don't see a lot of them in PA anymore since the salt eats them. Had a 4.0 in an XJ with over 300k that still ran like a top.

Nice find. I had a black 95 grand Cherokee limited when i was a senior in high school. Also had the 4.0, but mine was only 2wd. Later bought a 1998 xj Cherokee that i modified a little. The xj was great off-road.

No there's juice. You can hear a motor whine but none of the locks move. I wonder if, for some reason, the linkages got disconnected

Anyone know what this does? I looked in the manual but can't find anything on it (some pages are missing).

That 4.0L is like bullet proof. In regard to the doors, I've used these as first cars for kids several of these over the years, the door locks are a common issue. Also another common issue, any wiring in the sleeve in the door jamb is probably shot and could use some splices. Don't be shocked when you open the boot around the wiring and there's already fixes in there...

Isn’t that where the vehicle shows up and it shows you which one is open?

Changed out the headlight assemblies in this ol bird. MIL chose a hot ass day for me to work on it too. Oil change went pretty standard except for the PCV inspection. While trying to pry it out I broke it. The heat had made it brittle and it probably hadn't been changed out in a looong time. 3 shops later and I made it home to swap it out. The grommet needed the jaws of life to come out as well.

The towel on the passenger side window was MIL's way of keeping stuff out because the window wouldn't go back up. Motor had juice but one of the plastic rollers had broken in pieces so the cradle jumped the track. Nothing a little coat hanger couldn't fix - until I can order the part (which will probably be fun).

Anyway she looks 100000% better and I'm sure the illumination is much better considering that a pint of water came out of the passenger side housing when I got it off.
