Hey guys new member here! I recently switched up my order from a white SR5 to a black limited. My question is has anyone gotten rid of the chrome on the limited specifically to midnight black? I am not a huge fan of chrome but really wanted the panoramic roof which is why I switched over to the limited. I do plan to wrap the grill and bumpers. Is the chrome piece around the windowsill removable or will that need a wrap as well? My truck is currently 21 days out and I cannot wait!

Could potentially become a Pinned Thread if there are quite a few of us that want to dust the chrome...

I see a lot of discussions around changing things up however some of us [in Canada] have no idea what we are even getting since CDN versions [and options] are different then US versions plus they are late getting even up North of the 49th.

Yep, Toyota's design team had their collective heads up their asses with this grille (size, design) and color scheme stuff. WTH wouldn't they run opinion polls on something like that?

Ordered a Platinum and hate those chrome door handles. The mirror in Canada is all black rather than half black and half color matched like the US models. Not sure if It is best to cover with vinyl or have it painted. With the plant down to 1 shift I have lots of time to think about it. More delays coming.

Hopefully it won’t be to costly having them painted or vinyl clad.

It is ridiculous, some of the wrapping companies are asking $550-600 for a chrome delete of 4 door handles and lower window trim for Tundra.

I keep hearing from my dealer that it’s not actually chrome when looking at it up close…more like a nickel finish? Can anyone confirm that on any 22’ they have? I’m a bit confused…so if it’s not chrome, it’s what then?

For the limited model, the door handles and the window trim have a gloss chrome finish.

The grill surround is more of a satin brushed nickel look. See photos

    Awesome thanks.

So you blacked it out? Love it. Mind if I ask how they did it and the cost? Doing the exact same. Did you also do the Mustache?

Also, looking at your rims, they are all black as well? In Canada I am unclear if ours are all black on 18's with the OR or silver/black finish. If silver/black, I will be looking for a swap with someone for the all black OEM ones.

The black out and emblem removal cost me $500 usd. I’m going to actually paint the mustache and the diffuser to get the look below.

The wheels are black. For the limited model, the TRD off-road package adds the 20’ black wheels. SR5 off road comes in 18s, silver & black.

Silver truck, chrome looks great on it. Apart from door handles, I just don’t get that.

How do you take the chrome covers off the door handles and off of the window trim to wrap them? I can find anywhere where folks have posted it. Any help would be great. I plan on wrapping all of the chrome on the truck.

They do not take them off to wrap. They do it on the vehicle. They make a precise cut and tuck it in. It requires lots of fines to get it right. Mine turned out really nice

I looked them up. Plastic covers that go over the chrome parts? Not the same thing as selling painted parts. That’s the route I’m hoping for.
