    I used SEM Trim black. It goes on like a spray paint but is much more durable, dries quick, and doesn't have a lasting odor. Pics in my build thread below.

    @Tundra234

    Do you remember what color code or color name you used? I'm going to use the same stuff but am thinking about using a matte or satin black...

    Does anyone other than AJT make a full interior chrome delete kit? I'm just not crazy about the looks of the AJT stuff, but I also don't want to spend the time to prep and paint every little piece and I'm not confident in my painting skills anyway.

    Not that I'm aware of. I also do not like AJT products (the fake screw design bugs me) and wish someone would make a regular replacement kit in black.

    This is partly why i havent pulled trigger. I would rather replace with black parts rather than use an overlay. Some of it looks good but some of it looks super tacky.

    Taking my 19 PRO to a wrap place tomorow. Hes gonna wrap the two dopey silver pieces on the steering wheel, two surrounds at the head unit, all 4 door handles and those really long ridiculous looking trim pieces on each door. Cant wait.

    i have the ajt black out due to me not liking too shiny of things and i dont like the screws and holes. they dont look smooth and clean, also harder to keep clean with the holes. idk why theres not another company that makes another kit

    I painted my door panels with SEM trim paint but they scratch pretty easy. I tried to wrap them but could not do it. Wish I could find a place in Houston that wrapped. There has to be a place. I purchased over lays but have not installed them yet. Not sure how they will cover and stick after there is paint on them.

    Look on my build overlays or anything for that matter are a PITA!!! It took a lot to get paint to stick on the overlays and then I could not get them to stick!! After a bunch of trial and error I used contact cement and that seems to be holding up! I used every two sided whatever but nothing worked especially here in the Houston area! One person took the panels off then took the strips off and JB Welded them back in after paint! I give up for awhile. Still have the center dash piece and the door handles, right now I have overlays on the door handles but no one knows the difference except me!:)

    Someone makes the black pieces for the steering wheel now. Do not remember who I purchased them from. A bunch of us just bought the two pieces and replaced them with black made for pieces.

    Do you still have the print file? I'd love to print some of these for mine, seems taking the factory chrome rings off to paint is an almost dash removal type of process.

    I did pull the panels and removed the silver piece to paint it. Maybe I didn’t prep the best. I took one out again and scraped all the paint off and sanded the piss out of the piece and repainted then hit with satin clear coat. That looked great. Then a week later the guy that rides to work with me put his shoe on it and rubbed through in one small spot. So damn frustrating. There has to be a better solution. You would think someone would make the after market piecd you can weld back in.

    There is something about those pieces it is hard to get anything to stick to them. Even the cover strips are hard to paint. I was able to talk to a rep of the company about the cover strips and I pointed out that they should do a lot of them in Black but at that time they did not have any plans. The front door panels can be ordered with that strip in black but the price is over 300 a panel, then one would only have to work on the back door strips!

    Between my truck and my daughter's I could not tell you how many frustrating hours I have in those dang strips!! The daughter had me do hers in orange and now they do not make that paint anymore!!:). I am hoping that company will make those in black some day!!

    I can’t tell you how many hours I spent on those 4 pieces. Twice I had to sand them down to nothing and start all over!!!

    I will send a note to them again and see if Black is on their list this year? :)

    Are the steering wheel pieces just overlays? Or do I have to take the wheel apart? I looked on AJT website and no instructions, so I assume just an overlay???

    Thank you for any input.

    Overlay,, but I think someone actually took everything apart and painted that piece and put it back together.
