Hey everyone excited just purchased a magnetic grey 2018 1794 with the TRD offroad package, TRD rear sway bar, spray on bed liner, running boards, wheel locks, bed extender, and other cool accessories.

Now I need to know what to look for or the common bugs these trucks may have since I’m i new owner as of last night.

Thanks for any advice excited to be apart of the Tundra community.

Actually been a chevy guy for many years, i own a 1971 camaro RS and a 1961 chevy pickup which I’m working on but take to shows once in a while. I also have a 85 GMC 1500. When i started looking for a new truck my natural instinct was chevy or gmc. However they seem to plastic and the layout and options just did not excite me. The same on the fords and dodges. Plus i have driven ford trucks and vans for work for many many years and didn’t want to feel like i was at work in my own personal truck.
I started looking at the Tundras and talking to whoever i can about them and always heard good things. Then i started researching and looking and test driving them and new the Tundra was the one. Now I hope it last me 20 years and everything will be good to go.

One of the best features on the truck is keeping to lady happy with the dual climate control and heated seats. Got to keep the lady happy on her side while i blast the AC on my side.

On a serious note has anyone installed the TRD air box on their trucks and i heard it may increase gas mileage by about a mile a gallon. I don’t know just courious.

    Thanks

Congratulations. You bought the best half-ton and the manliest trim (e.g. the Marlboro Man). And, there are no bugs to watch out for! What you do have to watch out for is the "mod" bug.

    Welcome from CO.

I can honestly say this, you chose wisely in the 1/2 ton market. In reality, it is the only real choice. I’m still out on the fence with the 19’ lineup and time will tell.

Enjoy your kick ass truck. I really hope you like to bullshit, because there really isn’t much going on the Tundra forums other than friendship development. These trucks are pretty rock solid.

Welcome, if you start reading through all the threads here you'll find there aren't many bugs to discuss. Mostly we're all talking about how to modify them to suit our personal tastes. Tundras to go in for regular service and mods and not much else. Sure there are exceptions, but that's what they are,,,,, exceptions.

Oh I like how the 1794 exterior is normal on the 18. Hadn’t seen one yet. Nice.

Really aren’t any bugs on tundras. I gripe about the seats, some dislike the lack of interior storage, maybe the steering wheel is tilted a little too far forward......little things like that. No afm self destructing motors and such.

    Congrats on the new truck!

Personally I think the TRD intake is just for looks and a little bit of sound. Not worth the money, the stock setup is very efficient.

As far as bugs, not really any. I did see a thread on error codes with the TSS, however I don't have TSS so I didn't look into it much.

    Good luck with it!
