My dad is going to Ohio tomorrow to watch the college wrestling championships and will be gone all week. We had the "family" birthday celebration today. Gonna go out drinking with a couple friends tomorrow...

Then since there's a lot of money to be made barbacking on Saint Patrick's Weekend, I postponed my big birthday blowout at my parents' house until March 24th...

A 3rd Gen AC Long Bed is a Tundy I would not mind owning one day (especially in SR5 TRDOR form)! I saw this custom-wrapped Tundy while driving home from work earlier today, and made a U-turn so I could go back and take a picture. Right after I took the first picture, an employee of J-Dog (a veteran-owned junk-hauling company) came out of one of the stores, and pretty much read my mind. He comes out saying "Wait a minute! Wait a minute! I've got a pamphlet in the truck!" One of the reasons I'd taken pictures of this Tundy, in addition to adding to my ever-growing collection of Tundy photos in this thread, was so I could show the pics to my dad (a Navy vet) and and possibly hire these guys to help de-clutter our garage!

Get a load of this (copy/pasted from one of my threads on Tacoma World)...

Last October, I got a set a of brand new Michelin tires at BJ's. I love the tires!

The customer service? Not so much...

    More on that that later.

As soon as I got in the truck, I noticed that the tire pressure warning light was on. I thought nothing of it, as this has happened before. Whoever services the truck often goes by the factory PSI on the sticker and doesn't take into consideration the fact that my truck has aftermarket 16-inch rims and thus bigger tires...

I put air in the tires and the light didn't go out.

Then, the light started blinking for a minute after the truck was started. Annoyed at having this light on, I went to TW for help a few days after getting the new tires installed. The symptoms were indicative of a fault in the system, so two days later I made an appointment at the dealer.

I was expecting that one or more of my sensors had just completely failed. Shit happens, you know? The service manager called me up this afternoon and told me that the sensor was actually broken!

    It gets better...

The service manager believes that the BJ's tire guy broke the sensor at some point, and just shoved it back into place.

This is all that was left of my right rear sensor...

These pictures were all taken at the service desk when I went to pick up my truck earlier this evening...

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The tires were a present from my dad, who is a BJ's member. He is going to BJ's with the bill from the Toyota and is going to attempt to make them pay for it...

    @Marty McFly

It was a Sunday, and there was only one guy working. I drop the truck off, and after being told it'll take about an hour and a half for the job to be done, I go shopping in the wholesale club.

Almost an hour and a half later, I get a call from the tire center, expecting my truck to be done. Instead, the guy tells me that the rims require a special Allen wrench to remove. He does not have this Allen wrench, and wants to know if I have it. I was a understandably a bit pissed because an hour and a half had passed and he hadn't even gotten the tires off yet! I hadn't seen the wrench in years, and every other place I'd gotten my truck serviced at (Toyota dealer, STS Tire, Butch's Body Works) had possessed the correct Allen wrench to get my wheels off.

After a bit of back and forth, I called my dad and asked him to bring his set of hex keys. By the time I checked out and made it from the main store to the tire center, he'd gotten my wheels off...

I took out my phone and attempted to take a picture of my truck on the lift with the wheels removed, from the customer waiting area. The tire guy was less than happy about this, and started going of about "legal issues" and "no photography allowed."

I politely explained to him why I wanted to take the picture, and took the picture you see below...

I've never encountered this problem before. Just look on my YouTube channel, and you'll find a video of my truck being repaired after I got hit by a drunk driver, shot inside the body shop with the owner's permission. STS Tire Center and the Toyota dealer also have never cared about photography, as long as I don't go into restricted areas...

The guy at BJ's continued giving me shit, so I finally got mad and said "It's my fucking truck, and I'll take pictures of it if I want to."

My parents showed up with the now unneeded hex keys and I explained the situation to them. With my dad present, I apologized and explained how I have Asperger's Syndrome. I also tipped the guy $5 as an extra "I'm sorry."

    @Marty McFly

    UPDATE (March 27th, 2018):

I am a total idiot for not noticing this before, but apparently the asshole who put the tires on forced my center caps off and cracked them in the process when he discovered he didn't have the proper Alan wrench. This was after I told him to wait until my dad arrived with his Alan wrench set (we don't live far from BJ's). I was cleaning my truck today and I just happened to look at the wheels. This is what I found...

All four center caps were damaged! Each center cap is held in place by a single hex nut, and the plastic surrounding the each hole was damaged. In addition to the obvious damage around the holes where the hex nuts go, each center cap also has cracks in it (circled in red)...

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The left rear center cap won't even stay on anymore (I don't know how it stayed on since October, or how the Toyota dealer got it back on when I brought it in for a brake overhaul earlier this month)!

Wow, that's just crazy. I've never heard of anyone having an issue with taking pictures at any type of automechanic establishment. Good thing your parents showed up to help the situation. I think you handled the situation well. I would have said the same thing, it's my truck so go F:censored: yourself. That's unfortunate that the other place broke the sensor. I'd go after those A**holes.

    Too late now...

I went back (stupidly without my dad to back me up), and the same guy was there unfortunately. Luckily his manager was there too, and he was more level-headed, but the scumbag who worked on my truck tried to say the Toyota dealer broke it!

Say I do buy a Tundra one day...

Should I get a TRD Pro or an SR5 TRDOR with the standard sound system and put my own killer stereo in it, or should I get a Limited, a Platinum, or a 1794 with the JBL system?

2016 StormTrooper Tundra CrewMax TRD PRO
It would depend on many factors. How much do you know about mods and how deep is your wallet. If your mod savvy, I'd go with a SR5 OR and build it to what you want. If you have lots of money and need all the bells and whistles (eg heated seats, sun roof etc..) limited, platinum or 1794 would be your best bet. Or if your like me and have no knowledge about mods but want an off road worthy truck, then go PRO :woot: I just threw on some tires and a bed rack and I'm good to go

I'd have to have a killer stereo! I just bought a Rockford Fosgate amp and Kicker powered subwoofer for my Tacoma!
