just sharing my experience. took over 10+ hours for full job. This was my first attempt at paint correction/ceramic coating.

would i do it again? not alone… atleast not on paint correction part.

    equipment used:
    Gritos G15 and G21 Buffer
    Buff and shine Uro-fiber pad
    3d One compound/polish
Carpro essence using thier white polish pad

Cquarts 3.0 2 layers followed by Cquartz SIC one layer.

Very nice!! I love the combo of 3D One and the Uro-Fiber pads. There is a lot of real estate on a Tundra.....I know coating mine was a lot of work...and I only did one coat of MOHS EVO. What made you decide on the CQuartz coating products u used?

Looks awesome! As inspiring as your post is, I will not be doing that on my black truck....too much real estate. Maybe if the truck is repainted.

Very nice. Posts like this make me wish I had a truck of color (but it passes quickly!) It’s hard to get the “wow” factor on a white Tundra.

Thankfully....they correct fairly easily...at least the 2013's do. I've found the clear to be on the soft side

Hey man, I know that it took a long time... but coming from someone that got swirls similar to yours due to car wash (big mistake I know) your final product looks amazing!!
I actually was confused by your "after" picture until I realized it was the truck hahaha

I did a bit of digging a while ago and found a place called Portland Pro Detail, they’ve got some pretty solid reviews and look like a father-son setup. Not sure if they’d indulge us on a packaged deal..lol

After you do the coating, are you able to take it through any car wash, or does it need to be washed in some special way?

    Looks great!

Ideally, no vehicle should ever see the inside of a car wash......aka Swirl O Matic. Ceramic coatings do not make your vehicle impervious to harm. A coated vehicle should be washed by hand, and with a PH balanced soap. There are some soaps that are more suitable for coatings, as they clean better and keep it from getting clogged. CarPro Reset is a good example. Once washed, they should be topped with a quality ceramic detail spray, to help with longevity.

Not being familiar with Uro-Fiber, I looked them up on Amazon and found a 6 in 1 pad. That can't be right, can it?

If a person plans on using brushes on their truck a ceramic coating is pointless. Makes it easier to stay and keep clean though.

That means you are getting one pad......with "1 pad" in parentheses....and the '6 in' means 6 inch....so they are telling you that is the price for one 6-inch pad

That makes much more sense. I thought they were trying to convince me that 1 pad would do the job of 6 different ones.

My truck is the midnight black metallic. My swirls are nowhere near as bad as OP's before shot. What would you recommend when using 3d one? Formerly, I used Hex Logic but they needed replacing a very long time ago.

    Thanks

Not all car washes are "soft touch". In fact in WI during the winter, a touch-less car wash is needed periodically to address the brine and salt mixes they use on the roads.

I've polished and coated a fair number of cars. My GTO is black, I feel your pain. The Tundra has a lot of surface areato keep clean, kudos on the work! Truck looks gorgeous.

I see your point. We rarely get bad winters in NJ......and there are no touchless washes around me.

I've used 3D One....good product, long work/cycle time. Only issue with it is that it's a little oily to wipe off...the additional polishing oils are what gives it the long work time. Test spots are always your best friend. For the record...I love the Urofiber 50/50 pads
