Can someone please take me to school on the coach builder shackles. What are the pros and cons? I have a readylift 6 lift and wanna get rid of the rear blocks eventually. Is the cb shackles the way to go or is a whole new leaf pack the way to go? Or both? An what size do i need?

You will need to do both to get rid of a block completly. Most 6 inch kits run a 4" block. Most lift shackles give you 1-1.5 inches of lift. The Old Man Emu rear springs or ironman springs are good for 2-2.5". To get the full 4" you need to remove the block and keep the same rake you will need both.

The Icon RXT leaf pack can be configured to give 4" in the rear and increases payload and wheel travel.

Also Total Chaos makes shackles that mate with the deaver packs. Just another option.

One thing about the CBs that I'm not a fan of is you need to replace the bushing eyelets in the springs which is a pain. It provides a little more stability.

My readylift 6inch lift only came with 3inch rear blocks. Which suprised me but none the less it did. At first my nose was sticking up a couple inches in the front vs the back. But since it has settled its almost even. Still maybe a touch high in the front. So i would prolly want 3.5 or 4inches of lift in the rear.

On my 4.5" BDS lift I installed the 3+ CB shackles and had all kinds of pinion angle issues that could not be resolved by carrier bearing spacers. I ordered custom Deaver springs (8 weeks to make) new 1+ CB shackles, installed all to find the shackles are too thick and hit the hitch where it bolts to the frame.

The new Deavers are 3" longer than stock (didn't know that going into the install) so we ended up making our own custom shackles. Waiting for the oddly sized bolts to come in this Friday. Fingers crossed everything will work out!

What load are your new deavers built to handle? They look awesome. I’m looking forward to hearing how the install winds up!

I had him build them specifically to offer me a nice smooth ride when not towing but strong enough to tow my 32ft trailer. When loaded we're at about 900lbs at the hitch. I also have Firestone airbags to help out with leveling.

Yes the springs were about 3" of lift but we got the rest we needed out of the custom shackles we built.

I can only assume as again these were custom built to my requirements and again they are 3" longer eye to eye than the stock ones. Mine also have 9 leafs total.

With the U748's and TC 3/4" Shackles, how much height did you gain in the rear? Lookin at pairing this combo with Billy 5160's and those shocks are good up to 1.5" of lift

I’ve done the icon RXT with cb +3 shackles in my 7in BDS Lift! It worked perfectly to remove my lift block and now when I tow or haul the truck doesn’t squat as much! Before with like 300 pounds in the bed it would hit the bump stop but now with over 1000 it will NOT touch the bumps!

Hows the ride quality with nothing in the bed? Do you have the whole 4" set up in the rxt's?

Yeah I have the 4 inch setup with the rxt!! It’s not bad at all especially with weight in the bed before with like 300 pounds or so, I would almost bottom out, now with 1000+ It won’t even bottom out, but that’s thanks to the shocks as well!

How is it with no weight in the bed? I'd like to get the full 4" lift out of it, but worried it'll be too harsh of a ride.

So I put my leaf pack together like it states, but this is how it looks. The additional leaf is to be placed between 2 and 3, but its shorter than 3. Is this correct?
