Figured even though I was lowered I could still user a beefier shackle.

    Too many, but not enough....
Are those +2's? How much lower than stock are you?

These are the +3". I'm lowered 4" in the rear with the SOS flip kit.

@nags how's the ride been since install? I ordered the 2/4" SOS drop kit with airbags, trd front and rear sway bars, and decided I'm definitely getting the coach builder's. I'll still be towing and want the improved strength and ride quality improvements they mention. Is there any rake after installing the cb's or does it still sit level?

Seems like a great way to lower the rear about 2.5 inches. What shocks are you using? That is the next domino to figure out

Ride has been great. Only downfall is the CB shackles were slightly shorter than the SOS ones so they ended up bringing my rear up about 1/2" which I knew would be the case and didn't think it was going to bother me but it does a little. I've since reached out to CB to see if he can make me a custom set that's about 3.5" and I never heard back from him. I may look into having someone else make me a custom set if I don't hear back.

Much longer. On the lowest setting they're about 3" longer.

Hmm keep us updated if you find a custom set at 3.5", I'd go in for a second pair to make it worth their time. I'd rather have an even stance tbh. Also gonna look into a custom set of leaf springs

Also sounds like the cb shackles would work great on the 1/3.5" drop if you can find someone with that to buy yours.

    I emailed cb also lol

Hi, myself and a few others with lowered Tundras are trying to find out if custom 3.5" cb shackles could be made? We've found that the current 3" cb's work perfectly with the SOS Performance 1/3.5" drop kit, but leave the rear end a little high on their 2/4" drop kit. A slightly longer shackle, .5" longer, should but the 2/4" kit at a level stance. I'd be happy to buy a prototype set at normal or whatever markup needs to be involved on a custom order. It would open you doors to more potential sales by catering to the lowered Tundra market as well as the lifted with little change in design!

@nags I'd be interested in pictures of the whole truck. I don't need a taller truck and leveling via lowering the rear is an interesting proposition.

The Coachbuilder shackle will only "lower" the truck if it already has a flip kit on it. Otherwise, it will lift it.

It looks very level in that picture. And it's very close. But in person the rear is a tad high.

Missed this earlier but 100% agree. I wish he'd reply cause I'd sure rather support him than have to have something made....

Can see the difference a little better here. It's really not horrible. Just would love to get a custom set to bring it down a tad.

The stance of your truck with those wheels is killer. You want just a little more height in the rear? How much is the front dropped again?

No, no. I want to lower the rear a tad. I've got the SOS 2/4 kit and it sat perfect. Putting the CB shackles in the rear brought it up a tiny bit. My goal is to get the rear back down a little while still keeping the quality of CB.

Oh. Wouldn’t a +3.5 CB shackle raise the truck a quarter inch.

you shackle still points down from the frame, a longer shackle will lift your truck

Not with the flip kit. It's opposite.

is your shackle flipped? In the top picture it looks like the OE orientation. Your axle appears flipped to the top of the leaf springs

No, the leaf springs are flipped under the axle. SUA (spring under axle) in general it is a better design to have leafs under the axle instead of over for ride quality. Both lowered and lifted long travel suspension trucks utilize this.

100% agree on this, i had sua on my gen 1 and it was amazing.

however the orientation of the shackle and the position of the axle are 2 unrelated issues. Shackle length is not opposite on an SUA.

shackle length is opposite on gen 1 vs gen 2, as their shackle points up
