Fit, finish, sound, and price point are top notch. Very pleased with this exhaust. I had a corsa on my 08 crewmax and this is right up there with quality and half the price! 69099CF9-A12F-41E0-8611-DAAB89FB6F9C.jpg

Any sound clips? How loud is it? I was thinking about this exhaust. Seen some YouTube vids but I heard the drone was pretty bad around 60-65.

Can’t seem to post the start up vid. No drone what so ever! I had a corsa before this exhaust. Better quality and half the price.

    Looks/sounds good.

Do you know what pipe diameters are used - before and after muffler?
    How’s drone and throttle response?

I just installed mine and the drone is unbearable. I'm not sure why one person experiences drone, and another does not.

I know the last thing you probably want to do is put a hole in your brand new tailpipe, but the tailpipe resonators that you can either buy from Keith or have an exhaust shop make for you is very effective at cancelling drone.

Do you know what diameter your tailpipe is?

My tail pipe is 3”. I’m not concerned about cutting it. I’ll look into that.

It look like you had your carven exhaust for a while now. Does it still sounds the same when you first heard it on your truck? After having mine for about a week it feels like the rumble is gone but when I open her up I hear the rumble. Is that normal?

It was that bad. I think exhaust manufacturers over size pipe. Three inch pipe creates standing waves at low rpm.

Sold. I have the TRD exhaust now. It has challenges of its own. It sounds like a helicopter when cruising at low RPM (1500). I think this is partially because one pipe is twice as long as the other. The pipe from the left side of the engine goes to the right side of the truck before the mufflers, then goes back the the left side over the rear axle. This nearly doubles the length. I believe at that low RPM, the exhaust pulses of both banks are exiting the tail pipes at the same time. I think that installing an x pipe in front of the mufflers would solve this entirely. It would also increase low end torque which is nice for cruising on the highway. But I don’t want to chop in to a $1200 stainless exhaust.

Give it time. I have a dedicated thread in the Performance Section about how I added an H pipe and then Keith's tailpipe resonators to address the helicopter sound.

I have since removed everything, and run the true dual exhaust, and really like it. I don't know how or why, but it does mellow out with miles.

Scavenging is the big difference. The y pipe is great at this. True dual exhaust are great at high RPM. Single pipe properly sized is key to making low end torque. But, the carven is huge, so it misses the low end torque.

Do you think the low end torque was more, less or the same with the Carven compared to the TRD exhaust?

That’s hard to tell, but I think it was lower with the carven. I noticed more shifting down on my daily interstate drive up hills.
