Anyone know why the sound is noticeable worse when play music through carplay vs just playing it through bluetooth on the entune system? The bass and mids in Carplay is terrible? I love everything else about carplay, so it seems like I may be missing something..

I had to change the bass, mid, and treble for each source. Seems the head unit does not apply the changes across all sources. My CarPlay sounds better after I made the adjustments.

I think I tried that, but I'll try again. I also updated spotify this morning so we'll see if that helps.

Look into your Spotify settings too- make sure you’re not using low quality when streaming over cellular (using you have an unlimited plan)

Not trying to totally hijack the thread, but am I the only one experiencing a 1-3 second lag when I take a Bluetooth call over the wireless carplay? I have upgraded the firmware and it does not seem to help much. It is better at times, but the problem makes it very difficult to carry a conversation.

I had this same problem until I realized I had to adjust all of the EQ Levels for each input. I upgraded my sound system, and the tech that installed it had fine tuned all of my EQs, but only on my Bluetooth, once I matched them it sounded fine.

I've had that problem intermittently ever since I bought my truck, even on the newest iPhone - and this is with wired CarPlay.

Check your settings on you head unit. Each source has its own EQ settings.

nailed it! Sounds so much better. I also adjusted the equalizer in Spotify to hit the bass a little harder.

So one or a combination of these things helped:

    - Updated Spotify
    - Put quality on “very high” for WiFi and cellular
    - Changed the EQ in spotify settings, made it a little heavier in the bass
    - checked EQ setting in the head unit (though I think i accidentally did this the other day so I dont think this was the answer)

Regardless the sound is 100% better than it was.

Regarding phone calls, I have an 11 Pro, but no delay so far on the 2 calls I have taken.

    thanks team!

My brother recently discovered that the sound quality on Spotify is much worse for metal than for other genres for some reason.

I have the temporary Sirius access with the new vehicle, and it sounds much worse than the FM radio. Maybe I need to check the EQ on that.

I found the satellite radio horrible for sound quality no matter what I did. Sounded like it was coming from the bottom of a can.

2019 no android auto/carplay crew dang it. Satellite radio quality sucks once you get used to higher quality streaming. Google music on "always high quality". Tried Tidal that has lossless but library and integration wasn't as good. CD's still the best.

Android is noticeably worse at helping with spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation, and nobody asked about cupcakes. Shit or otherwise.

Does Android have a social skills app?

    correct me here...

If you are plugged in and using carplay...you can modify the EQ settings on your iphone & it will matter. i use "late night"

using bluetooth...it bypasses the headphone stuff and sends raw signal to the head unit.

I only use wired. I haven’t checked since I got the 2021 Tundra with CarPlay (before or after I put the Tech12volts system in) so I don’t know if it overrides the current OEM headunit or the maestro.
I know it overrode the settings on both the factory headunit and the aftermarket Kenwood one in my 2017.

I’ve always found that a wired connection sounds way better than Bluetooth, no matter what phone or vehicle I have. My old iPod Classic always sounded better than my phone did also, so I used that for music until it finally gave up the ghost.
