With all the fires and ash in the air, and the addition of my vinyl wrap I got a car cover from the Toyota dealer. Brand name was "IntroGuard". I was wondering if anybody had experience with car covers on their truck.

    Pros/Cons?

The biggest downfall is that they scratch the paint. I can't imagine its possible to keep both the car and the cover clean enough to prevent that.

I have the Covercraft Weathershield HP on my 2015 Civic and my wife's 2020 Honda Pilot Touring. I've seen no evidence of scratching on thee vehicles. The Weathershield HP material is similar to a parachute type material. Very lightweight and can be washed in a standard washer.

I don't have cover on my Tundra since is a garage queen.

    Thanks dude

I have a vinyl wrap so I'm less concerned about the scratching as it will get taken off one day, but I'm more concerned that in my area we have tons of trees (birds), and dust so my truck gets soiled so so fast. Like ill wash it and then an hour later there's bird poop and a layer of pollen/dust. Al of these things basically destroy vinyl wrap. It seems that water is going to get trapped in the bed when it rains but Im still waiting to see the extent of that.

I was also curious because I paid just over 200 for my car cover but it seems there are some cover craft covers that are going for almost 800.00 dollars! Is there really that much of a difference that could justify that price?

It depends on your environment. I would avoid cloth or anything with a liner.

I've used the custom fitted covers from Weathertech on two different vehicles, one wrapped and one ceramic coated, and I dont think the fitted cloth covers are worth it by any stretch.
    Main issues:
    1. Dirt tends to sift through the cloth weave. Over time the rain will collect the dirt in certain areas and the wind will shake the cover through.
    2. High winds will turn the cloth into an abrasive (noticed this more on the wrapped vehicle)
    3. Mildew becomes an issue over time. Adds another thing to clean regularly. Nothing I've used has kept the mildew from starting and spreading.
    4. Seams are brittle in freezing temps. After a few uses in winter expect the cover start coming apart. Repairable but another maintenance item.
    5. Tight fitment on a daily makes it more challenging and more time intensive to remove/replace the cover. Expect abrasion over the bumpers and mirrors
    6. Bugs will live under and on top of the cover. It is its own echo system.
Personally I would go with the cheapo Amazon basics (I don't think they make one for trucks) or the Tecoom. Get one with the side zipper (make sure it has a flap to prevent contact) and adjustable straps.

Easiest method to remove is unstrap, lift over bumpers, fold up the sides inward towards the center line, roll from front to back. Replacing the cover you pull it our of the trunk/bed, roll it back to front and drop the sides. Easy peasy.

    Some thread necro going on.
