I found an old Dakota cap for dirt cheap. It’s 5.6 1/2 long by 5.3 wide.

the crewmax bed is 5.53 wide and 5.5 long. But I don’t know if that’s from the inside of the bed or from the outside, panel to panel.

Anyone rocking a not perfect fit cap?

The tundra beds are curved different than other manufacture beds

I have not seen reports of a different truck brand fitting any tundras regardless of the generation

It is possible I could be wrong, but after owning tundras since 2013 I haven’t seen any reports of it

I have tried and used Ford DCU shells on the 2nd gen tundra and no real issues at all.

The Commercial DCU shells are made of Metal usually and the sides sit on top of the bed rails where it does not matter whether they match the curve of the bed sides at all.

Fiberglass is obviously a different story entirely and hit or miss for a decent fit but I imagine mostly a miss!
Fiberglass shells usually sit over the edge of the bed side and if the curve of the shell is not a direct match for the curve of the bed then it will probably not sit right or seal from weather correctly even with rubber weatherstripping under the shells rail surface.

But sure I have seen some pretty crazy mismatches that seem to work for someone else we each have our own threshold for living with this stuff for sure.
