First of all, sorry if this has already been discussed on here. I couldn't find anything but I also didn't dig very deep.

Just curious as to what others do with their canopy/covers when not in use. Or do most just leave them on year around? I'd like to take mine off during the summer months to take advantage of the bed a bit more and get some use out of the roll down rear window(I love that feature).

So, any ideas? Other than leaving it on the garage floor or renting a storage unit, I've got nothing.

    Thanks everyone.

Mine stays on year round. Would love to take it off, just don't have the space/area to store it.

Stays on the vehicle. It's a semi-permanent install with the bed rail clamps, weather seal, RTV silicone, wiring for lights, etc. Not realistic to take it on and off, in my opinion.

No cap here, but why not keep it on and use a trailer if necessary for cargo. I also have a huge DIY hitch basket that will carry 800 lbs such as my garden tractor. Window? Only hot or cold AF here most days so....

You mentioned you have a garage. Assuming it's big enough to fit your truck in, why not purchase one of the cap hoists and mount it to the garage ceiling? And leave the cap up and out of you way when not in use, and then have a nice easy re-install later.

I appreciate everyone’s replies. Sounds like there is no perfect answer for me….yet. A hoist of some sorts seems like it’d work best. I’ll have to check into that.

I never did think of any types of sealant and or wiring that would cause issues going on and off. That’ll be a huge factor.

Again, thanks for all the replies!
