I usually do my own oil changes and take the used oil in the recycling center. I was trying to shop for oil via Amazon and Walmart and the prices are almost doubled even after the conversion from USD to CND.

Where do you buy your W0-20 Synthetic and does the provincial recycling center take it or you have to take it to a different facility that specialize in recycling oil only?

Should I just take it to Toyota?

    Thanks!

As far as I know, our local county environmental station takes used oil at no charge but that's obviously going to vary substantially depending on where you are.

I like to buy my oil from Canadian Tire even if it costs a bit more because I want to support Canadian companies and I really don't like Walmart.

Check with your local auto parts chain, they sometimes take bulk oil for recycling.

Thanks! I'll check Canadian tire prices and compare. I do want to support local business, but Canadian tire is Canada's Walmart minus the groceries. But since I'm residing in Canada now, I have to support and help the the Canadian economy, since it will benefit the community overall.

By the looks of it, I will be spending the same amount DIY and going to Toyota for an Oil Change. I guess, I'll just schedule my oil change in Charlottetown Toyota next week.

    Function before sparkle.
I use the Flipp app and search for sales and support whoever is cheapest when I need it.

Locally we can bring used oil to the back of a fire station along with other household chemicals for recycling.

I run Mobil 1 so I wait for Chinadian Tire to have a sale then I stock up. I only need to change my oil twice a year so it works out well. I'm also fortunate to work at a place that disposes of oil and grease semi-regularly so I just take it to work and add it to the pile.

We also purchase most of our oil at CT. They often have 50% off sales on top motor oils like Mobil 1 and Pennzoil Ultra Plat.

The local CTs used to accept used oil, but I don’t believe they do anymore. City/Municipal dumps and firehalls often take it- free of charge.

I started buying my 0W20 from my local ‘yota dealer. Their regular price per litre worked out to about the same as Mobil 1 AFE on sale at Cambodian Tire, and I no longer have to watch for sales and hoard lube for my personal use.

Disposal is easy for me, since I work in a shop with a 5000 L used oil tank and a Cleanburn oil furnace.

Walmart has it in there flyer here 5L mobil 1 $23. I thought that was pretty good. I used to always take it back to Canadian tire but for some reason they stopped accepting used oil. Now I am going to have to go to the dump...
