Curious as to how many Canadian Tundra owners purchased extended warranty and if it's been worth it or not. As a general rule I don't purchase extended warranty on anything I buy because I think it's largely a scam. Recently picked up my first Tundra (really excited) and had decided against the extra warranty but dealer was really pushing on pick up day ... lots of talk about how expensive repairs on the electronics (in particular LCD display) can be. I still declined but have time yet to add ... just curious as to what experiences others have had.

    Function before sparkle.
    Never purchased, never regretted.

Did on my last. I feel it was an amount that made sense. Where the 22 may have some kinks the piece of mind I’d rather that extra protection. Toyota is generally an excellent product but I have never been able to fit dealership, fair and honest in the same sentence.

I bought an extended warranty with my current 2nd gen tundra and the number of times I was told it doesn't apply to issues I had with the truck is absurd and never will get another one. Transmission line failed but wasn't covered under power train warranty, got it serviced and the mechanic broke the insert for the oil filter cartridge and ended up starving the engine with oil when it collapsed on itself. they eventually covered the majority of the repair cost's after a lot of bitching but had to foot the bill for the initial diagnosis and and about 6 hours of labour for diagnosis :(only to get the truck back and one of the leaf springs were broken and they blamed me when i hadn't even left the lot.

I got it on my 3rd - gen. A first production year + many electronics = mucho expensive if something goes. Got some money off of it, so I'll sleep a little better

Anything a dealer pushes I stay away from, like extended warranty.

I did the same, especially since The Woman will be driving it while I'm out of town for my 2 week work shifts. I don't want her to have to worry about anything.

I always avoid taking out extended warranties. The dealer pushed me real hard when we bought the family Highlander. I didn't budge My argument was, I'm buying a Toyota as its reliable so I shouldn't need it. That was the first year when the latest Highlander came out, with all the risks of bugs in the system.
8 years later 90k Km only been in the shop for oil changes! My Tundra is 6 years in with just oil changes.
Now as long as Murphy's law stays away I should be safe doing the same on the 2022 Tundra if I ever see it!
