Hey Guys I just traded in my 2016 Toyota Tundra TRD Off-Road for a 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. I will admit after reading through this forum part of me wishes I had gotten the Platinum instead but I did lease it in case value drops after new design comes out and I can try to get a great deal on it. I really do not like the stock tires they put on the Tundra and I want to change them so I have two questions. First question is can you exchange tires from a new truck at somewhere like discount tires? second question is with current suspension(fox racing) how big of tires can I go without doing anything major?

Truck is Army green and I will post pictures soon. I am also thinking about getting the Tesla style radio from PheonixAutomotive.com. Has anyone done this and does it make the speakers louder just changing the Head Unit?

So this Thread that you just sent me does not list specifics for each trim of tundra just the year. So it is not taking account for the Shocks/suspension that come with the TRD Pro which is different then all the others so that should change. I have heard people saying the TRD Pro shocks can be lifted more. Anyone able to help clarify?

Discount tire bought my factory tires from me when I put my Yokohama MTs on my current truck. I’ve had dealers in the past put what type of tire I wanted on the truck I was buying from them just make sure you get it in writing and make it part of the deal. I didn’t haggle with the dealer on this one because I wanted to lift it and I’d got such a great deal on the truck I didn’t want to push my luck.
Also on the pro suspension you’ll be able to go 285s - 295 range. I’ll let some of the pro owners chime in on what they are running.

Hey there Mick. That is exactly what I needed to know for the exchange part. I will go to discount tire and ask. Do they do lifts as well?

Discount tire does not do lifts at least the ones here in my area don’t settle on their first offer sometimes they will lowball you on price the one manager I know told me that if they have under 5000 miles on them you’ll get at least half of retail price out of your stock tires better than letting them set in the garage for a year trying to get rid of them for a little more.

$350 plus install. You can clear 35's with no BMC and maintain your nice stock ride.

Discounts around here don't take used tires. If you drove straight there from dealer with the little beads on them then maybe. You will not get much out of them. I tried to get a Ford dealer to swap tires once. They wanted more than I would have paid at Discount. Basically no credit for take offs. I said screw it. I had another truck with same size.

It all depends on their inventory of used tires. When they accept the trade in with my 300 mile tire, they took off $100. I was wanting them to buy back they new tire I got from them, but they have too much of a used inventory as of now, so they are not buying tires.

Thanks for the help everyone. I am at discount tire now and looks like so far they are only offering $240 for all 4 tires which isnt enough for me to swap out brand new tires with bigger tires. I might go craigslist route but if I do I will have to buy the nitto trail grappler tires first. They are 295/70

If the tire was mounted on a wheel, it’s no longer considered new. Much less driven even a block on. You’re lucky they offered you anything for them haha.

Dang Danman kind of negative comment.. actually they are pretty much brand new haha. Tires life go by tread left and it has full tread. Discount tire guy said himself they are practically brand new and have lost no tread. He himself told me to try craigslist first because that is what he did. Again a little negative on the comment and it only makes sense to try to sell practically new tires for as much as possible

I don't think he was trying to be negative. I do agree Craigslist is the best route, but just think if you're looking to buy tires yourself: would you rather pay a price close to new from someone off Craigslist with no warranty, or pay a little more from a retailer with a full warranty and the peace of mind knowing they're actually brand spankin' new?

I see what you are saying BuckWallace but you can buy warranty at discount for $199.99 for life of all four tires so that kind of alleviates that which most people do buy their warranty if they use them for servicing their tires. I put them up on craigslist for $150(they retail for $243) and have a couple requests so I will be getting my new tires tomorrow. Just to give you two a pointer you should always try to get as much as possible for items you own that you are selling. Definitely not good to try to rip people off but you should get as much of it value as possible when selling something.

Totally agree, not saying you should give people a bargain, just trying to put it in perspective. For what it's worth, I'd be totally fine buying some practically-brand new takeoffs to save some money. Good luck!

Hey SouthWestGA I am located in Texas! Danman please just stop at this point you are being rude. You clearly dont know what you are talking about and I will go off of what someone says that works at a tire store over someone on the internet. Tires are sold for $150 each for a total of $600. Pretty good if you ask me. I am doing a 12 month payoff at discount with so this will cover about 40% of the cost of the new tires.

Probably could have asked for a little more but this is more than 50% of their value brand new so I will take it since Discount could only offer 25%. And again just so everyone here knows do not listen to Danman. The guy at discount tire said tires are based off of the tread that they have left. He said my tread was 11/32 of an inch which is considered "practically" new and not worn. The fact of the matter is Discount is in it to make money and he said he sold his new tires on Craigslist so I followed his advice and sold them for decent value.

I just called discount and If I had purchased the tires from them and had wanted to exchange the tires I would have been able to receive 90% value on the tires with the miles driven on them . gives you guys an idea of their perceived worth if purchased from same place you are exchanging.

295/70 is a good size for your pro. Might have slight rubbing but you wont' know til they are mounted. Ridge Grapplers are great tires.
