Seriously? Thought dawn was a great alternative.

Damn, looked it up....you're correct in your statement, sir!

Guess I'll be investing in some soap just for cars! Thanks bud!:burnrubber:

Yeah the only time I've ever used Dawn soap to wash a car was when I was trying to strip off all the layers of protection and start over. I still have not used it in years I just Claybar after a good wash and build back up the layers of protection. Sealant and wax. And I only Claybar when I feel it's needed usually once a year or every two years.

A lady opened her door yesterday in a parking lot and let her door hit mine. I was in the truck and rolled the window down...and very kindly said "what the fuck!?!?!?!?!!##!"

She snarled and said "I couldn't hold the door, I have a kid here!"

So, I said "well maybe you shouldn't have that kid if you cant keep up! I have this truck, and it's in perfectly good shape, and I don't use it as an excuse for damaging other people's property!!!!!!"

I might have taken it a little far:muscleflexing:

Yep I found my first ding on my truck the other day. Can't imagine where I got it because I mostly just use this truck to and from work so it must've happened a while ago. I hadn't washed my truck in over a month because of the on and off rain we've been having. Ruined my whole Sunday! I got the ding out best I could. I filled the chip and then wet sanded it down to flat. I'm still pissed about it. If I ever get any more I will have a paintless dent removal guy come and tune up the whole truck. I freaking look at that spot every time I walk by it now. I have one of those ding removal tools and it helped but not enough.

Our touchless car wash must use different chemicals. We've used this place in town for years. When we traded in our 2004 Sienna, that 10-year old van looked new. Our 2014 Sienna looked the same when we traded in. My Tundra, and my wife's Nissan NV get regular car wash and we did not notice any negative effect (except that it's hard on your eyes after the wash---too shiny).

There ARE some car wash owners that do take the time and money to get the right chemicals. Sadly, these people are exceptions to the rule from what I've seen. Most of them cut corners to minimize costs and maximize profits (from what I've seen and heard)

I use turtle wax ice car wash soap. It's suds up really nicely and it says it's pH balanced. I'm sure it's not the best stuff out there but is definitely better than that cheap stuff that you can get. It's like water. The stuff I use is really thick. Usually brands have a cheap version and a more expensive one I always opt for the expensive one.

That's about what the products look like in my bathroom and it's all the girls stuff. My stuff includes shampoo face soap and body wash. Although I do use a good face lotion to keep the wrinkles down and me looking beautiful LOL. And sunblock as I am in the sun every day.

Heck yeah! Got to take care of the face man. I learned that when I was a young kid if you want to keep the acne down you got a wash the face properly. And then I just kept it into adulthood. I grew up pretty much with all women. My mom was a single mom for quite a few years so I took up the tendencies she had to take care of herself.

Hey man but I look goooood though! Not bad for spending 38 years of my life cooking myself in the sun.

Well... I suppose it sucks to be me. Found out earlier today that there is no designated car wash spot for residents of this building. I could go to my brother's house but that's a 52 mile hike.:annoyed:

I did look my truck over for the telltale signs (swirls/water marks) of automated car wash damage and found none.
