I bought my 2010 V6 Tundra about 4 months ago from a local Toyota dealer with 63000 miles and an excellent service record. I have put about 4800 miles on it.

The coolant level in the reservoir has gone down about 1/2 inch maybe a little more and today while changing my oil I noticed a small amount of milky oil in the fill tube.

I thought I bought the right truck for me (spent a little more for a low milesge vehicle) and now I have put even more into it (which I cannot afford).

    Super bummed ☹️

@Kn4x2, are you seeing white smoke out of your exhaust? Is there any sign of oil in reservoir , and are you having to fill your reservoir frequently?

Was the dipstick milky? If not, you're just dealing with condensation in the crankcase, it happens during the winter more So and especially if doing short trips.

Longer trips with the oil up to operating temps will keep it at away.

Well Kevin, it could possibly be a head gasket, but hopefully it's something simple. Keep us posted, and hope you make out good

My Tacoma that I had before the tundra would do that especially in the winter. I would drive it but not far enough to "super heat" the engine. Therefore it would create condensation that I would see in the fill tube and under the cap. Just a thought. 4.0 V6

    Oil and dipstick looked fine.

Thanks. I worry about everything, unfortunately

My coolant level is just below the “low” line when engine is warmed and parked, once parked in garage over night, it fills back up to exactaly in between the “full” and “low” level by the next morning. Make sure you’re checking your fluids at the same operating (or non-operating) temperatures.

I check the coolant in morning so it has a complete cool down overnight.

My 4.0L Tacoma also did the same thing in winter. The oil filler tube is so long that the top end is cool from the air blowing off the fan, and it collects a lot of “mayonnaise”. It looks odd, but not a problem. If you are really concerened, send in an oil sample.

I’m pretty sure regular cab only. Work truck spec, so most were white. :D

Did you notice the oil smelling like gas? Or under the cap?

Interesting. I don’t think that was an option in Canada, but I’m really not sure now.

The white part was a joke, not sure if you caught that. Some here like to say that white is the fastest color. But silver is way more gooder.

    Great news.

Dealership service department inspected my truck today and did not find anything that I need to worry about. Cooling system is fine.

They found that the timing cover could be weeping a small amount of oil, so they cleaned the oil off and told me to inspect it once in while to see if it gets worse.

Well, as usual I over analyzed things and gave myself an ulcer.

The dealership did the inspection for free as well
