Hey guys. Thinking of taking a drive to southern Colorado, bringing the tundra and a tent, any good camping spots one would suggest?

Check out the Spanish Peak's area near LaVeta which is a beautiful part of Colorado. Chuchara Pass area is a go to spot. ie....Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Most here will say southwest. Everybody and their 3rd cousins go there and the trails get quite congested at times. South Central CO is rarely mentioned here. Go there and have some peace and quiet with stunning views

If you go you will pass thru Trinidad which is a very historic town here in Colorado. Outstanding Mexican food can be had there. Most State Parks will require a reservation if you choose that route. By the way..when are you planning to go? Fall is nice too. My favorite time of year here. Keep in mine that there may be some COVID restrictions but CO is opening up. Be sure to check local county and statewide COVID updates.

Wife and I are planning a week long trip ourselves to southern CO this July. I think we're gonna check out Crested Butte. Gonna take the Tundra when we go, too. I can't wait.

Taylor Park, CO is a nice area. Depending on your route, Capulin Volcano National Monument may be worth a stop.

Thanks everyone for the help! Super stoked to get out off the hardball and throw some dirt around! Guess we’ll see when we get out there what’s open or not, don’t really like panning crap out, just winging it. Might head out this weekend

Just cause the word campfire has “camp” in it doesn’t meant you should have one when camping.

There will probably be fire bans all over Colorado all year due to the heat / dryness and Covid-19. Fires happen in Colorado every year, fires bring people close together to fight them and cost money and resources that could be better used.

we picked up a propane fire pit which will probably mostly be allowed during camping this year.

We're leaving for a camping trip in two weeks with the Tundra and trailer. Sand Dunes (hopefully Pinon Flats opens), Durango, Telluride, Buena Vista, and then home.

The wildflower festival is the 10-19. When the wildflowers are out (festival or not) is the best time to go.
