Does anyone ever head out to camp at the track for races at Laguna Seca? Getting woken up at 9am by redlining engines on practice laps is the best alarm clock ever. The sites there are right next to the track and you can watch the races from your camper. Below is the view from the camp site. This was the Ferrari Challenge earlier this year.

The race tickets + camping package deals vary in price, but I got 3 nights camping and 3 days of racing for me and my wife for $140. We are going again to the Pirelli World Challenge in October. I think those tickets were only in the $300 range. Amazing deal for such a great time. If you are not into warm ups and practice on Thursday/Friday you have Monterey and Carmel right there (if you need to convince the wife).

No camping up there, but it is amazing to hike up and sit there. When were you at MotoGP? I went in 2015.

Reminds me of whe I was a kid living in Pennsylvania... my parents would drive up to Watkins Glen, NY when the used to run the Grand Prix cars there... as an 8-10 year old boy... I loved the screaming engines... saw Nikki Lauda race for Ferrari if my memory serves me right... and 6 wheel ( 4 front wheels... 2 on each side) Elf cars... wild times at that track in the mid- late '70s... motorcycle gangs... mud pits and movies on the infield... I remember walking through the pits / garage areas " after hours" seeing all the race cars up close... it was so cool to a young boy... GREAT memories!

That is what I love about Laguna. You can walk to the infield and see all of the teams and their cars. Such an amazing time.
