A7CE4AF7-A507-47E1-8A70-B8F082A6E3FF.jpg I want to get a set off these and want to know if any of the guys with a pro have them installed. I do a Cb 1” shim, any feedback would be cool and appreciated. I have spent a few weeks looking around the fourum and have read a lot of info about all of the UCA’s that are available and this is the set I want to get. With the sales going on right know I can get them a good bit under 600.00 delivered. The delta joint is beyond what I want to spend. I have around 800.00/850.00 to spend on purchase and install. Thanks

Are UCAs even needed on the PRO after the CB shim lift?

Looking at the same setup for my Pro as well. Do you guys think for a $100 more it's worth the uniball worth it? Someone must have an answer?

If you wanna spend the money I would go with the Camburg Kinetic UCA. If your looking for a cost effective UCA I would go with the SPC UCA.

I think that @831Tun had alignment issues with the Camburg arms.

Why do folks like SPC so much? I would have thought this Camburg setup would be cost effective, and good future upgrade for better suspension. In the near future.
I did read somewhere there can be alignment issues with Camburg.

I would skip UCA's with TRD Pro shocks and put the $$ towards other mods. Most upgrade UCA's to help with alignment and gain extra travel with extended travel shocks on a Mid Travel/Long Travel setups from Fox/King/ADS/Icon.

TC long travel. Deaver 420 SU leaf packs.
The Camburg UCAs have A LOT of caster built into 'em which I believe can damage the steering rack. I switched 'em for MCM UCAs. I've been through several UCA setups and think MCM and TC yield the best results with caster and camber.

I am looking to upgrade my UCA 1st. Going to go ADS or Kings next fall. Staying 2/1. Sounds like MCM is a better choice. TC little more then I want to spend plus I hear they can squeak.

TC can squeak if they aren’t properly greased. Mine squeaked terribly on my Tacoma until I hit them with the grease gun.

Like @ Guhner123 says, clean and lubed they won't squeak, dirty/ dry they'll both squeak. MCM is the same as TC for the most part (same uniball and poly bushings) except they provide a little more caster. It's important to note that to lube the bushings properly, the long bolt is supposed to be loosened to prevent ruining the bushings.

Should you re grease every other oil change, or how dusty and wet the conditions are and grease accordeling. I live where there is lots of snow and dry and dusty in the Summer.

I live in San Diego and through desert trips and stuff like that I didn’t have any issues for 20k Miles. But it can vary. That’s why people do like SPC ucas there just like the stock ones and don’t require much matience.

You shouldn't need to grease the bushings very often. I haven't had a set of UCAs on the truck long enough to require re-lubing after install. You'll wanna keep a rag and some triflow around for your uniballs. Mine squeak a little when they get dusty.

I don’t have a pro but have I have the Camburg ball joint UCA’s and they have done me well. I had a set of SPC UCA’s on my Tacoma and they squeaked like hell after the first few months. Decided on the these since I don’t see any hardcore or extremely fast off-roading and they are much more protected from elements. IMO, you can’t go wrong with whatever company you go with

Stock for now, but have TRD Rear Sway bar for it.
Can someone explain the exact reason why you would need these? Alignment help and long travel strength are the only reasons I see why. Thanks.

Refreshing this thread as I'm considering the Camburg billet UCAs. Anyone care to elaborate/add to the alignment issue?

I have TC uppers for going on 4 years and no problems whatsoever. I grease them once or twice a year during oil change / driveshaft grease intervals and keep the balls cleaned whenever I wash the truck.

My alignment is stellar. No issue.

Edit: my previous Gen1 had Camburg uppers and never had an issue. Same maintenance schedule and same alignment guy.

I think people either don't know how to grease them or they grease the bushings incorrectly with the top bolt un-loosened. And then they have problems and blame the equipment.

You MUST loosen or even remove the top bolt when you grease the bushings. If you don't, you will damage the bushing.

I loosen the top bolt/nut so that the washer is easily spinning in my hand, then I put the grease gun and push grease until it pushes out a lot of the old grease, then wipe off the excess, tighten the bolt, wipe again. And I'm done. Easy peasy. Don't even need a lift.

The billet Camburg's have heims so the above mentioned bushings are a moot point. The benefit is a very adjustable UCA allowing all kinds of alignment adjustment. The downside is alignment techs are often not the greatest/most experienced mechanics and none of them know how or are willing to put in the extra effort to use the heims to adjust your alignment. The heims are a great feature that few can/will be able to take advantage of.
