Always had a small oil leak... finally resolved by cam work. Issue is now the pinging of the valves. It happens when I start, after 15 minutes, after 1 hrs.... Guys I work with say it sound like a diesel engine. Took it to two dealers and both say its normal. I have a 5 yr/75K extended warranty and I hope to keep the truck this long to keep it that long. Will my engine eventually seize if this continues?

My 14' with 13k miles sounds like that too. I bought it new, it did from day one. I believe it's normal.

I've heard this multiple times but the verdict has always been one of two things. Timing cog is off. Or it's "breaking in" and should resolve within a month or so just keep an eye out for leaking.
