    TRD CAI on a ‘15 flex-fuel 5.7.
    Who’s got one?
Pros and cons, if you please.

I’ve been looking at one but my dude, who’s a tuner for a local race team, keeps telling me that they cause problems when it comes to the ecu ajutsting or knowing what’s going on under the hood.

    Gracias, vatos.

Some folks here have CAI. Little HP/MPG gains with one from what I've read. I have not seen anyone post issues with ECU after installing CAI. I would imagine engine picks it up just fine since you have to disconnect battery before you install it. Those that have it will chime in soon.

AFE Pro Dry S is like $50 to $75 and has proven gains. Save the rest of the $$ for other mods. IMHO

Factory is CAI already, draws from fender well.

As well, IIRC, the tube diameter on most aftermarket CAIs is larger which equals slower air movement, but more volume.

Traditionally smaller diameter/longer runners produce more torque while large diameter/shorter runners produce more HP.

How do you drive everyday? I'm assuming not red line all day long, which makes me want to stay with a better torque curve than HP.

What’s the difference between an AFE and a K&N?

And I already have all the exterior/suspension mods that I want. It’s performance time, and I ain’t got 7 g’s for a supercharger.

What other perf. mods would you recommend?
I mean, I’m not trying to turn it into a racecar, but everyone likes a little more power..

I dont think K&N makes a dry filter.

What’s the difference between dry and not dry? Is it referencing that oil that you spray on a k&n?

more than I can list here
Dry has orifices thru the filter that are very tiny. Dirt is supposed to not fit thru.

Oiled has bigger openings and oil sails thru the openings to grab dirt as it tries to enter. And dirt collects on the outside of filter and clots up further filtering the incoming air.

    Makes sense.
Thanks for the info. I’ll look into the AFE then.

Tuner. I'm not saying it'll give better performance but it will change shift points and feel peppier. It's kinda like driving in tow/ haul mode all the time.
