I was told this tech has been around for over a decade, thief mimics keyfob in your home and transmits the same signal using a receiver to unlock your Toyota/Lexus. If you have remote start, they'll drive your Lexus away. I guess the primitive physical key in our Tundras is a good thing!

What's a good keyfob protector to buy? I suspect someone did this as I always lock my truck, or maybe that night I didn't, not sure. I always use a steering lockbar now, more work for them!

If a thief wants something, he/she is going to get anyway they can. They are just a lot smarter thieves now. LOL

Fold some foil over your fob, interesting, doesn't work now.

This obviously wouldn’t be good for someone who likes to use their remote start. I had one of these on my old plumbing van, and it makes it pretty much impossible to steal your vehicle. The only way to take it is with a tow truck. It has to be installed by a certified ravelco tech. Someone would have to sit there for hours trying to find the right combination of wires to connect. Just don’t lose it!
