I want to get a 4x4 but want to stay under $15k and prefer a 2nd generation. At what point is it too many miles? Should I be afraid of 200,000 plus? I'm looking for a truck I don’t baby as much as my current one. Something to get down and dirty with and not sweat the scratches and what not.

Good luck with the way prices are right now. I saw a 2012 listed with 102,000 miles...they were asking almost 25K.

Don't get discouraged! they are out there. I got my 07 limited 4x4 CM every option, bought it with 154k on it 14,500$ however the value of the truck was 17,500 at time of purchase. I got a sweetheart deal because the seller was in Fire department also.

Yeah its pretty nuts. I'm also considering an FJ cruiser. Not sure which is a better place to put my money. Definitely want to stick with Toyota, but prices are especially high.

I wonder what these trucks actually sell for. I listed mine at a fairly high price ($16k). A price I'd be very happy with getting. No interest and one offer for $8k. Granted its not 4wd, but it is an RCSB with under 100,000. I don't expect to sell it for what I listed, I need it to move first. But once I do move I'll drop it to what I think is a fair price.

Put it in Carvana for an offer. I have a 2013 2wd DC 4.6 with 97K. My offer was 17,500

I currently have a 2011 model with 423k and no major issues so high mileage doesn’t concern me. I also am in the market for a 2nd generation and prices are crazy currently. I am looking at a 2012 SR5 4WD double cab with 176k miles. They are asking $16500 with a clean CarFax.

Most I see under $15000 have well over 200,000 miles or have been in accidents. Or both. I'm thinking I will have to pony up on a high mileage high priced truck. It'll hurt to get rid of a low mileage peach for it.

I paid $15k for my 2008 with 180k on it a few years ago. It was the cheapest one in Colorado at the time too :D no regrets, slapped a supercharger on 35k later and she's nearing 240k now without incident.

Look on KSL Classifieds. Utah has a lot better deals on tundras from what I've seen. There's usually some nice ones in the $10k range here.

How Important is a one owner vehicle to you guys? Would you consider a higher mileage one owner more than a multiple owned lower mileage truck? Let's say 170,000 miles (one owner 2013) to a 90,000 miles (3 owners 2008).
    Basically same price $18k

How long ago did you get your truck?
I'll try and be patient for two months. Would like to find the right truck by winter.

Bought it in March. Know the market has changed since then, but this one was for sale for several months at $20k. Had a bad dog odor. I got him down $2k and he paid for the detail.

Look around the NW too. I found a 2010 DC SR5 in Helena that had about 115k on it, and as I recall he was asking $17k for it. It was a clean looking truck and was my #2 option. I picked mine up in Hood River. Boise is a pretty decent Tundra market, as is the Ogden/SLC area.

I paid under 17K for mine in Feb right before this Carnage started and it had 40K miles on it.

Of course it is also a RCLB and evidently not too sought after either but was exactly what I was looking for!

    Keep looking or start paying.

I found the RCSB that I was looking for 3 years ago and paid $5,000 for it when it had 270,000 miles, I'm sure I could sell it for a bit more today with 294,000 miles.
Buying a high mileage Tundra is not so bad, and you can limit your exposure if you buy one with excellent service records. Mine came with zero service history, so I had to bring all of the service & maintenance up to speed and hope for the best. So far - so good... unexpected expenses: fuel pump, drive shaft plus rear transmission seal, and I am currently trying to determine if the torque converter needs replacing. There was a TSB on the torque converter, but I am pretty sure the previous owners ignored it.
