18x9 Method 312 285/75R18 Toyo R/T Trail TRD Pro Suspension
In the beginning... I missed my 2008 Doublecab SR5 Tundra... but drove too much to think about daily driving a 5.7L V8, so I did the next best thing and started with a 2018 Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 with Premium and Technology packages in November of 2017. Added a OEM TRD pro grille with radiator garnish and 17" Method NV wheels w/ 275/60R17 Toyo A/T II. 19,230 miles later, here she sat.

Then one day in May 2018 walking thru Target, the little lady had a revelation and went off to purchase an item for herself. 3 hours later, we discovered that we were expecting our first bundle of joy. Immediately, thanks to a few friends with Tundras, I knew I would have to move the Tacoma because baby seats just don't fit in a Doublecab. Using Labor Day as a tipping point, I started locating the pricing the vehicle I knew I wanted, a 2018 Limited Cement Crewmax 4x4. After being annoyed by one dealer and insulted by another, I found my truck at Temecula Valley Toyota in Temecula, CA (duh...the name) and worked the deal over the phone during the day. Picked up the new vehicle that night and drove home 60 miles.

After realizing that I had to take care of this baby before the real one arrived, I waited a whole 2 weeks before change #1: 18" x 9" Method Race 312 with 285/65R18 Falken AT3W.

More to come in the following weeks...!

Got my attention with the No Dinero part, then I saw the black lab and that sealed the deal.
    Welcome aboard!

Congrats on the child. Your first?

I did the same bud. Bought the '16 Taco TRD OR 4X4 new, year later we had a little girl. After about 6 months with the car seat in the middle seat of the back of the Taco, we decided I needed a bigger truck. Now I've got the '16 Tundra TRD OR 4X4 used.

Yes, those are KO2's on the Taco. I miss them. Ended up putting Cooper AT3 XLT's on the Tundra due to a $250 difference.

Did the same thing. Had an awesome 2017 Tacoma built up. Had a baby and lasted 2 weeks with the car seat before we went and traded it in for a tundra. Miss my taco but love the V8 and the space!

Did the ride quality go down with the new wheel/tire combo?

Haven't provided any updates in a while, but the I swapped out the suspension a week later for Bilstein 6112/5160 combo at 1.3" and that is when the stiffness of the suspension changed the ride. Rougher on the road but can stop and turn without the dive/roll feeling.

Talk about bringing a thread back from the dead... Didn't do anything to the truck for 5 years after the kid arrived... but she's 5 so Dad gets to play a bit now...

Got rid of the chrome bolts on the Method 312 with the black bolts
    IMG_9536.jpg

Had these sitting in the garage for the last 2 years so after 90,000 miles on Bilstein 6112/5160 and 1 blown shock, was time to install the Fox TRD Pros.
    IMG_9546.jpg

Since the wheels were coming off, might as well replace the AT3W from post #1 with 90,000 miles on them and step up to Toyo R/T Trail in 285/75R18.
    IMG_9543.jpg

Better not be another 5 years before get to wrench... color match bumper in the garage and this thing needs tint before a SoCal summer!!!
