Curious if anyone is using the hood mounted bug deflectors and if so which one would you recommend? I would imagine many consider them to be pshaw, but still considering it myself.

I like them for sheer purpose of protecting the hood against pebble strikes on the hood. But all of them have always rubbed off paint/chrome finish somewhere. Hence why I just do not waste my time with them anymore. OEM Toyota, AVS, and WeatherTech are the brands I have used. And in snowy months their a pain to deal with because ice builds up and rattles on your paint…no bueno IMHO.

Been using AVS for years. Last deflector was on my 07 and looked ok and did exactly what it was supposed to. The AVS for the 14's and up.....I find them to be a bit hideous, mostly non functional, and a very tacky way to keep them on. AVS 's competitors are the same. It's that dang hood bulge design. The "flectors" for the 14 and up mount flat and won't deflect much of anything. My 2 cents. Still use AVS vent visors.

I’ve been looking into the WeatherTech one myself due to rocks chipping my windshield. I’d like to see an actual pic of one on our trucks though.
