I picked up some from partsgeek which 1aauto referred me to. I have a 2018 sr5 that has bsm. I've been moving pins and can't seem to get it. The bsm lights on the mirror come on at start, and if I have bsm turned on no errors. Then I drive around and when they detect it throws an error. If I toggle the bsm setting I can get it to error as well. The posts about adding a led might work but I have the led on the mirror itself. I might take the mirror off to see if there are loose connections.

I started mapping out my pins. I don't think it can be fixed with pins. Anyone have an idea? Take the 5th wire and swap it with the 3rd wire? Move the common negative?

Found this in another thread... added FACTORY or NOT FACTORY for my Truck.
    Pin 1: Heat + FACTORY
    Pin 2: Heat – FACTORY
Pin 3: Signal – Running Light - NOT FACTORY
Pin 4: Signal + NOT FACTORY
Pin 5: Puddle Lamp – FACTORY GROUND?
Pin 6: Puddle Lamp + NOT FACTORY
Pin 7: Mirror Retract (+) NOT FACTORY
Pin 8: Mirror Fold (–) NOT FACTORY
Pin 9: Running Light + NOT FACTORY
Pin 10: Mirror Vert (power) FACTORY
    Pin 11: Mirror + FACTORY
Pin 12: Mirror Horiz (power) FACTORY
    Pin 13: Auto-Dim – NOT FACTORY
    Pin 14: Auto-Dim + NOT FACTORY
Pin 15-17: Memory Pins NOT FACTORY
    Pin 18: BSM light FACTORY

    BROCK TOW MIRRORS
    Pin 1: Heat + YES
    Pin 2: Heat – YES
Pin 3: Signal – Running Light - YES
    Pin 4: Signal + YES
Pin 5: Puddle Lamp – NO
Pin 6: Puddle Lamp + NO
Pin 7: Mirror Retract (+) NO
Pin 8: Mirror Fold (–) NO
Pin 9: Running Light + YES
Pin 10: Mirror Vert (power) YES
    Pin 11: Mirror + YES
Pin 12: Mirror Horiz (power) YES

You motivated me to try to get mine working and I was successful. I traced the wires from the factory mirror and found the BSM wire in the tow mirrors needed to be flipped from top to bottom. Mine was a purple wire and I believe I just moved it from position 9 to 18 using a pair of pliers. They now function on a 2014 Platinum.

@whiskey_woo - I couldn't do that purple wire 9/18 swap. It never worked on my 2018! So I ended up removing the BSM light and about 4 inches of wire from the orig OEM lights. Then I removed the mirror from the tow mirrors, stripped out the light and used the old lights... HUNG them out the side of the mirror - installed them and it worked great! From this thread I think I read the actually light for the bsm triangle was not the right amp? BUT!! I then closed them up and now it doesn't work. I haven't been able to go back and troubleshoot again. Fail. 20210513_134022.jpg 20210513_134031.jpg

Update to this - got it working today. My passenger side always lit the light - but the driver side did not. So I got brave and removed the mirror once again - traced the wires, checked the light, traced the wires again, put a meter on the mirror... everything looked in order. So what the heck- reverse the wires. Purple to black, black to purple and walla. Now I am working!! whew. brutal.

    Hey Charles,
What pin numbers did you switch?
    Thanks,

@GoletaGreg This is what my wiring ended up looking like. I believe I always went back to factory pining. Looking for the image before I installed them... upload_2021-11-12_8-17-45.jpg
