Hey guys, I wanted to share some info I thought might be useful, everything I searched for this topic isn't as definitive this post will be. Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

There are a total of 4 breather lines in the engine bay. 2 of them are located underneath the brake booster, these are the most common ones you'll see in threads and posts. The breather located towards the front of the truck is for the front differential, the one behind that is for the A.D.D - Automatic Differential Disconnect. Both of these breathers are expansion breathers. Meaning they allow air too escape as temperatures rise and air expands, but don't allow air or liquids to enter. This is accomplished with a spring and round rubber gasket located inside the cap. 20220503_155342.jpg 20220503_154331.jpg

The other breathers are located behind the engine, they're kinda hard to see, but they do exist! The driver side breather is for the transfer case. It is also an expansion breather. The passenger side breather is for the transmission, it's a 2 way breather, and has no seals or springs. It's made of 2 plastic pieces, the body and the cap. The cap snaps onto the body and has a fair amount of play. There is absolutely nothing that can prevent dust and contaminates from entering this, so ill be posting my solution later. I'm still sourcing my parts. (The hole is so small it's probably not worth worrying about, don't freak out! I'm just going the extra mile)

The driver and passenger transfer case and trans breather locations are where? Can you show a approximate location of which are would we find those?

I know you say located behind engine but around where. Perhaps a generic engine pic with circled location would be great.

    Great info Btw.

I used a Google generated engine bay pic for this and added an arrow. Look underneath the arrow. If you have large hands it's gonna be incredibly hard to get to. I had to lay down on my stomach across the engine bay to reach them. And it when removing them from the bracket It was all by feel, I wasn't able to see what I was doing. An inspection mirror would probably help you locate them pretty easily

It's just a general idea (I have the 5.7). Passenger side of the intake manifold. You'll have to look hard for it. It's not easy to spot. You gotta remove your engine cover.

Do you happen to have the part number for the transfer case breather? I found the plastic one, but cannot find the other one you replaced.

I just noticed Grillojay tried tagging but forgot or didn't know to use the "@" symbol in front of your forum name.
