Those of you on the fence about getting a remote tune don’t be. It’s easy to install and un install. I put my tune back on in a matter of minutes. And comes of just as easy. Well worth the money.

Been on the fence for a while. Just pulled the trigger on the remote tune.

Those of you that got tuned in person, what happens when you replace the battery? Will the ecu revert back to stock?

the truck still has the tune, but the computer will have to relearn it. for me, that takes about a tank of gas.

You are going to be stoked with the tune. Takes a bit for your driving habits and tune to mesh, but once is does it very noticeable. Report back with what you think. Remember it won’t be like getting a SC, but way cheaper improvement in performance.

So just got my MOD file from DAP. Holy S**T Balls batman! I did exactly what the rest of you have done. Installed the mod file, found a clear stretch of road and made the mistake of getting on the throttle! Truck is so much quicker with throttle response. I'm hesitant to say that it has more power "no access to a dyno", but it certainly throws your head back. Curious to see what this will do to my milage. First true test will be this weekend towing my toy hauler. So far really happy with what I'm seeing.

Grats :). I did the dap tune 8 months ago and I love it. You won’t get better gas mileage though :)

Hey yall, iv reallized that i live around the 3000 rpm range with the exemption of having some fun here and there. But i love the idea of having the power when i want it. Am i gonna see the difference in day to day driving or is it mainly at full throttle?

you will see the difference in day to day driving. you will notice the instant throttle response at all rpm ranges and speeds and you will find that you don't need to be up above 3000 rpm to get the truck to move.... the truck will respond at lower rpms. but when you do go full throttle... holy shit does it move. the main feature with the dap tune at full throttle is that the transmission lag is gone, the shift points are raised, and the shifting firmness is increased. that alone makes the truck 1-2 seconds faster.

for anyone in the Austin, tx area, I will gladly give you a ride in my truck so that you can see the difference between the stock and dap tune.

Just did the remote tune on mine. Very happy with it. I'm not into heavy-footing it much anymore, but it has a much improved response for when you need it. And keeps pulling right on through the shift points. The engine seems noticeably quieter, laboring less at highway speeds.

Agree. When I was into Jap turbos, these shelf maps are just very conservative to not do any damage, but also not for your truck. Every truck behaves differently, and should be tuned up on a dyno. That is the safest and best way for YOUR truck. Worried about longevity? Take it in and strap it to their dyno.

Does anyone know how I could contact Shrek for the dap turn? I live in California so I’d like to get a group rate going.

I installed the DAP tune in my driveway a little over 2 years ago, and I have to say that even though I was skeptical, it's the #1 best mod I have made to this truck... it makes all of the other mods that much better.

Had been looking at tunes for awhile..was kinda set on getting OVTune but gave up? Sounds like DAP is the best most reliable all around tune and bypasses the Air Injection BS!

I’ve been running a DAP tune for two years now. It been great and reliable. Shift points will be much smoother. What happens to OVTune? Seemed the like the thread went off the rails at times.

Seems to be a lot of inconsistent stuff? With some ECU’s working or not, some older some newer, some features working sone not etc... I lost confidence and patience!

How is this different than being in tow/haul mode with the nannies all off (aka Beast Mode)? I have a hard time not jumping off the line when in tow/haul mode alone.

They are transitioning to Vf tuner for all their tunes be it Tundra, Tacoma and other Toyota models. There's also a forum in the OV tune website much like HP tuner website.

Daptuned today...Shipped quick! Got it in 2 days with standard shipping. After I emailed DAP with the requested files they sent the tune back in 2 days. Install was quick and easy.
First impression..SIAS has definitely been bypassed! No more howling air pump on start up! Shifting is way better. Also the throttle change gives much smoother power..its there when you want it, no more jack rabbit starts when you barely step in the pedal. Will be taking a 300 mile trip tomorrow I’ll be able to give impressions afterwards?

    Give er' hell!
I didn't really notice much difference when driving around the city keeping rpms low....but when mash it, higher redline, and tighter shifts are great!

WHY.....410 miles on the DAPTune.. 50-60 miles in town, 20-30 miles in 4X4, elevation at the start of the trip was 2536 feet destination was 7393 feet. Drove with cruise set at 70mph. Gear hunting no more! Just a guess but I’d say shifting has been reduced while cruising by about 60-70%! 14.4mpg round trip! Hand calculation was 14.25! Took Danimal86’s advice and gave her hell a few times...power increase is impressive to say the least! I wasn’t expecting nor did I really care about the MPG increase but I’ll take it!

So recently I removed my Bully Dog so I can explore other tune options capable of maximizing my mods further as im still reaching within N/A. Prior to Bully Dog I actually dropped an email to DAP via their site and never received a reply which prompted my BD decision originally. With my renewed interest I went ahead and fired off another email 4 days ago after calling a few times with no ans. I know people are busy but for those who have had success getting ahold of "Shrek" what was your wait time typically ?

Im looking for what options can be worked into the tune like AIP bypass etc. or do we just order and wait for someone to reach out to gather those details, or is it a canned tune across the board for everyone who orders "Stage 1". Looking for someone who went the DAP route to give me an idea.
