Brand new truck, painted pinstripe removal

Just got a new tundra and the truck had painted on pinstriping.


I hate to use acetone on new paint but does anyone have any experience with this ? I heard the eraser wheel only works on vinyl.

 

Interested in this too. I hate it when the dealer/port adds a bunch of stuff that I really don't want then charges extra too. I love my spray in bedliner and I am OK with the side steps for now but I really didnt want the painted on pin stripe. I wish it was vinyl....

 

Same! I was just about to order that eraser wheel too until I tried messing with it with my fingernail

 

I will ask the guy we get to do painted pen stripes if he knows how to get them off safely. We usually just go to sanding, never thought about a situation like this.

 

Take it to a very good detail shop. Paint seems really thin. Damaged mine when removing sticker pinstripes that were new from the factory. They were several years old but it looks like they were embedded in the paint.

I really was being sarcastic... !974. As in Oldsmobile and AMC pinstripes.
