I ordered OEM's yesterday. Hopefully they are okay with towing occasionally.

Everything is installed. I sent them the photos of the other rotor so I will see what they say about that side. I doubt that the caliper is sticking on the passenger side.

I ordered a set of OEM rotors but Frozen is looking at the pics that I sent them. He says it looks like a stuck caliper but I sent him pics of the other side late yesterday.

After 40 years Toyota’s.. there’s one thing on my vehicles that only get touched by me and that’s my brakes, as I consider brakes and steering the two most critical components of a vehicle. I’ve always used factory Toyota rotors, pads, shoes and hardware kits (which used to be included with pads, shoes).
Have substituted Brembo OEM replacement a couple times for rotors because of availability and major price difference. Proper initial break in of newly installed components is critical for longevity. Heat cycling and tempering of rotors and pads. Bedding of pads and/or shoes.

Weird, I've never done some "breakin" activity on new brakes and never seem to have had premature wear or shorted life span, that I can tell, but maybe it becomes noticeable when you're towing a lot.

I'm an OEM fan as well, all the way. Don't have to worry about fit, EVER.

Oh beware...if your rotors always seem to warp prematurely, check two things: lug nut torque is the correct amount and rust between the inside of the rotor that sits on the hub surface that does cause an uneven surface for a new rotor.

That's cool they are looking at them. And a stuck caliper is no fun. :(
So what do you think for a solution to this?

I don't think that the caliper is stuck. If it was, there would probably be more heat and possibly small cracks on the rotor surface.

Honestly it's pretty cool to see you getting support on this issue. So many manufactures will just give you the finger once they have your money. At least they seem to be doing the right thing. Here's to hoping you end up with new rotors and pads on all four corners.

True. I still have to call him back to discuss the issue. They may not replace them but at least they did look at them.

ALCONS....have an extra compete set. Front and rear I'll let go for a good price.

Don't the Alcons only come in complete brake kits? I don't see where you can get just the rotors...it could just be the site that I am looking at though.

You are correct...I purchased an extra set when I did the group buy, unfortunately my friend has not paid for them so they are for sale

The need for "bedding in" or "breaking in" new pads and rotors, while good practice, is largely dependent on the type of pad. Most "stock" pads are pretty tolerant of just being put into service immediately, bedding in for them is really just being somewhat gentle for the first 200-300 miles. You will rarely see a shop bed pads or even mention it to customers for your average brake job.

When you get into higher performance aftermarket pads or swapping pads (like a different brand pad or type) without replacing or resurfacing rotors is when bedding in comes into play more. I have pads on some of my vehicles that absolutely required bedding to get them to perform properly, but again these are a higher performance pad that can handle track duty.

I’m a tech if that wasn’t obvious; it’s not something I was taught to do but figured it out from the internet; told my bosses about it and now we do it on all the brake jobs. It definitely helps with come backs for brake noises and the like

I'll admit, even for OEMs, about about 1000 miles on them, they are better than when first installed.

My OEM rotors from the sale showed up today, but Frozen wants me to try a couple of things and he can offer a new set at 50% off if I don't gain any progeress.
