What are you guys using for brake rotors? After less than 9 months, my Frozen cryo treated rotors are warped. Stoptech is no longer making theirs, and OEM's are on backorder.

Have you been continually warping rotors?

I use oem on the tundra and my previous 4Runner. Not sure why but had horrible luck with aftermarket’s prematurely warping……I have exclusively gone oem for the last 10 years

I installed Hawk Talon Super Duty front rotors last year with Hawk LTS pads. Been happy enough with them. Only complaint is initial cold bite as I leave house in the morning. It's like they film up or something overnight. After a couple stops they feel good again.

They feel really good once there is a little heat in them.

No. This was caused by ball joint and suspension issues.

Sparks shows that the OEMs are not available currently. I will check the local dealership.

Call XAT or search around. People still have the Stoptech Cryos.

I went from OEM to PowerStop and have been very happy with the result. No warping and very good stopping power.

Advics is one of the manufacturers Toyota uses, and I’ve had good luck with them where rotors were warping. Rockauto has them in stock. I pair them with the same brand pads.

    OEM for every Toyota vehicle.

Between every Toyota I’ve owned (7) growing up, plus my wife’s Toyotas, I’d say I’m somewhere in the million+ mile range.

OEM pads and rotors have always, outlasted, and not warped or failed prematurely, then any type of other brand I tried.

I definitely tried more options and combinations when I was younger, but for the past 15 years or so, I go OEM.

IMHO nothing beats Powerstop. We live in a hilly area and battled warped rotors constantly until I tried Powerstop. 4 years later and not a single warped rotor.

Napa shows the Advics at $165 each. RockAuto shows the same part # at $64 each.

Right. Just going off of your question. You asked what I was using. I answered you.
I wasn't about to start searching for what's in stock.

I've used EBC, DBA rotors with good results,, I now have Advic on the front and Advic on order for rears. BTW, StopTech, Centric and Raybestos, all owned by parent company First Brands, (Fram) has filed bankruptcy...

The Advics rotors from RockAuto are high quality, same as the OE Toyota rotors. Made by Waupaca Foundary for Advics in the USA.

High carbon or not doesn't really matter. Tends to mean the metal is a little softer and helps control brake noise when using semi-metallic pads.

Yes I knew StopTech is no longer. How do you like the Advics and what pads are you using? Im still pissed that the Frozens didn't last long.

I’ve used adaptive one slotted rotors and haven’t had an issue with them.

Advics on the front with Akebono pads, 4,000 miles on them, are good so far and I don't baby them. Had EBC slotted rotors and pads before them, they were good also, except for brake dust, eventually the slots get filled..

I bought a set of Brembos with their UV coating, which I hope will help with corrosion resistance over the painted OEM style rotors. I haven't decided on brake pads, maybe OEM or Akebono ProActs.

If I go with this setup, I am looking at $447 shipped. It sucks that the Frozen rotors have been disappointing and less than a year old.

Yeah; if they got warped from a resounding issue, then why not try the frozen rotors again or see if anyone local can turn your current warped rotors?

(that is depending on how bad they warped)
