I just got a 2015 Tundra and they claim it has integrates brake controller but no control dev I ce. I'm thinking I should have one installed. I tow a horse and want to be as safe as I possibly can be.
    Thoughts?

Your owner's manual will tell you the max weight you can tow without brakes. What does your trailer weigh when it's loaded and full of horses?

Welcome from the Texas Hill Country.

I'm guessing that "they" is the person(s) that was selling the truck to you. If all the truck is lacking is the OEM brake control device (IBC), it was probably removed and replaced with an aftermarket controller by the previous owner. He probably bought a newer Tundra, and took the aftermarket controller with him because it was already tuned for his towing.

All 2014+ Tundras have hitches, wired trailer receptacles on the bumper, and a plug-n-play dash harness that will accept a trailer brake controller. You can now add an aftermarket brake controller of your choice like the Tekonsha P3 using an aftermarket filler plate. On a 2015, the brake controller harness connector is in the dash just to right of the steering wheel. A lot has been posted here on trailer brake controllers, use Search.

Tow/Haul is the towing package. All Tundras don't have towing package. 5.7L like yours HAS the towing package. Your truck had an IBC, it was removed for some reason.

Oh, I thought it was part of dash on lower right side of steering wheel but only in 2016+ trucks?

That may be true, my Tundra history is weak. The plug-n-play dash harness connector IS behind the lower dash panel on the RH side of steering wheel for all 2015-2017 Tundras.

If you don't have a IBC recess in the lower dash panel, you can order a lower dash panel with the controller recess from your Toyota dealer. If you want to use a Tekonsha P3, there's an aftermarket filler plate that will make the P3 look like it was installed at the factory. Everything you need to have a working brake controller in OEM location shown below:

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain things to me. According to the manual I should have one As part of the dash so I will contact dealer for more info. Thanks again!

Maybe you shouldn't have one. Owner Manuals have to cover all features. If the IBC was an option that was not included in the standard equipment tow/haul package, the manual has to cover it, but with a note that says "* If equipped". If your previous owner didn't tow, and didn't need the brake controller, he wouldn't have ordered it. You're better off that he didn't, the P3 is a better option. Toyota brake controllers are relatively expensive and have been problematic over the years.

It will be worthwhile to review towing tips in the "Tow/Haul" forum. A lot of us had towed for years just to realize we were underinformed about our tow vehicles' payload, tongue weight limitation, and how much gear and passengers we could load. At 5100 pounds, you're likely well under your trailer towing capacity, but worth checking your Owner Manual. It's in there with a lot of other good towing tips and recommendations. You'll also want to check the load carrying capacity on your truck's driver side door jamb sticker. Subtract off the loaded tongue weight, and what remains is your gear and passenger capacity.
