While driving home from work a few days ago, the end-of-the-world message below appeared on the dash display in my 2016 Tundra TSS.

    tundra.jpg

The brakes seemed to be acting normally but I took the truck to the dealer to see what's up. They have fiddled with it for 2 days and now say they need to back order a new brake controller. By the way, I have only pulled a trailer once with this vehicle and that was 2 years ago and just for a few miles on a dirt farm road.
Anyone else ever get this message? Repair? Results?

That's the message I got when I replaced the IBC in my 2016 Tundra. It went away when I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes. My guess your Brake controller disappeared to the ECU.

was that the real issue? needing a new brake contoller? i am getting the same error but abs in addition. Ive replaced the abs sensor, connecting wire also up to the 1st connection before it goes into the box up top in the engine compartment. I am thinking of replacing the wheel hub assembly as i think it might be rubbing on the abs sensor. I came to the conclusion about zeroing on the the abs sensor after taking it to the dealership and having them scan it. it came back with a reading a bad sensor wire front passanger. but after all my work i am still getting the exact same error. my braking seems to work fine and no problem driving and i can use cruise control... havent tried 4 wheel drive any as im scared it might mess something up. I also disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and still the same errors. any help will be greatly appreciated. i have a 2016 tundra crewmax

This this just happened to my truck about 1 hour ago I'm going to go and disconnect the battery when I get home and see what happens.

Anybody know the route cause for this issue? It seems to happen for many 2016 tundras!

2016 with just over 40k “Trailer Brake Controller error, see Dealer.” No ABS or other lights. Was intermittent in January this year but now it stays on. Anyone have any luck figuring this out?
