My son Graduated High School yesterday. He is a very well mannered young man and he has done well with his school. He is going off to college soon and he will need his own wheels. So I bought him a 2008 Mini Cooper S hardtop. I had the motor rebuilt, new brakes, tinted the windows, new wheels and tires and I’ve got a few more upgrades coming over the next few weeks. I just surprised him with it and he was blown away! So proud of him and grateful I get to give him his first car and it’s paid off. 4915F9FE-DE65-42BA-99DB-05C2643B09E8.jpg

It’s hard for me to leave anything stock so there are one or two parts on order. lol I’m going to be working with him on making his car to his own style. He said he can’t wait to show his friends.

It handles extremely well! It hugs the road and the brakes feel great! I installed a 17x9 1/2” rim with sport tires. The e rims were 16x8x12”. So he gets a little more contact to the ground and the tires perform very well in wet conditions. I had a tracking system installed to monitor his driving and help protect against theft.

My mom had a mini s. When she moved to the Bay area, my wife and I "delivered" it from San Diego, cannon ball run style. That is an amazing little machine.

It does benefit from ditching the runflat tires. Just make sure you have roadside, because there is no spare.

Super cool sir. Congratulations to you and your son! My second daughter graduates today. I’m considering replacing her Tundra. As much as she and I love it, it’s going to be difficult for her to park and get around with a truck at college this fall. I’ve been up there several times and that town and campus are definitely not designed for trucks.

Did you bring the Mini home in your truck bed?

That would be cool to fit a Mini Cooper into the bed but it’s to big. Haha I had the car shipped from California.

When I received the car it looked like this.

That is what bikes are for. LOL

Nephew is going away this Summer/Fall, was told to get a bike for campus. He has full size truck. Was told it would sit most of the time. We offered to take him bike shopping for graduation gift.
