How's the Hypertech Interceptor 2014 holding up, any issues?

So far so good. I love the response time and just finished my first full tank of gas on it. Ran premium and got 14.8 compared to 13.6 previously according to the gauges.

No, they were out of stock on the amber color for that bulb type at the time. I'm looking at converting my headlights to HID or LED and once I decide to pull the trigger I'll order the DRLs too.

Do you usually drive fat of the line and stuff or all city? My 5.7 DC sr5 is getting 16to18 sick and figured it'd be worse at altitude. If I give up on sc, like the idea of maybe making almost 20 with the hypers.

I rarely do any hwy driving and I came from a 4.0 Taco so I like to open her up :D. I did drive a couple hundred miles on the hwy this past weekend and almost got 16.

Finally got around to painting the calipers. Threw on a decal as well to increase horsepower.

    Easy 5hp per Trd decal.

Some questions on Hypertech Interceptor and Speedo Calibrator install. Did you disconnect battery cables on both setups or just calibrator? And on calibrator, you mention to leave the USB cable attached and run to under drivers seat for future possible changes. That sounds like a good idea so you would have to take apart the dash again. No problems with having an open end? Thanks!

    Great job on Calipers!

On the calibrator, just leave it tucked up somewhere. It won't effect anything.

Nice job on painting the calipers! Another idea I'll have to copy from you. Lol. Also, I meant to ask, the spyder headlights have high and low beam or just low beam? Thanks

I did disconnect the battery only for the calibrator install. When I plugged everything back in and fired her up the dash lit up like an xmas tree lol. I had to disconnect it again for about 20 mins so it could reset. Haven't had any issues since.

Yeah I just ran mine under the floor mat and the open end is under the seat. I don't intend on changing tire sizes often but I'm sure as hell not tearing the dash apart if/when I do lol.

Thanks Brian, Sean and Kris. I called Hypertech this morning too and they confirmed no need to disconnect battery cables and leaving usb cable is just fine.

OH WOW!! Yeah had no clue. That sucks man, sorry to hear but glad you and everyone are ok. Sounds like the insurance company at least took care of you.

So whats up next? You exploring your next project? As much as I loved the Taco and hated to see her go, I haven't regretted moving to a Tundra once... just sayin :D!

Does the headlight leveling still work with the spyder headlights?

No, but theres a few guides out there how to install the leveler motors into it. I'd have jumped on spyders sooner but between the actually fairly weak light, and not out of the box being meant to work with the leveler. Seems silly to spend that much then often be wanting to then swap in pricier brighter bulbs.

Everyone has an opinion bud so I respect yours. However, I love my Spyder lights as do many other members here. Not only do they add to the appeal of the truck but they actually have the same output if not better than the stock headlights. I have a wider and farther light coverage with the projectors. Which was one of the main reasons why I purchased them, so I could legally upgrade to LED or HID bulbs with the projectors. Anyone who is looking to retro their lights with LEDs whether its with their existing lamps or aftermarket is going to spend about the same at the end of the day.

Don't get me wrong, they are gorgeous and I was lusting after them. Still may end up with them. Just think a couple tweaks could make them an even more stand out product. From seeing other threads about modding them, I'd want a wee bit less opaque diffuser and just some brighter bulbs from stock. I'd even be happy to pay a wee bit more than they are currently.

To be fair the motor housing thing I think is fairly minor. People obsess over it, but how many of us really have a need to constantly be adjusting it. Get it adjusted once and gtg.

Don't see them on the TT site yet? Sold both the vled/spyder or mean you added them yourself to the spyder? Would interest me more if I could see them first hand locally and from a local dealer helps too. Maybe do it all in one big buy at once with the either Boss or the other simple 3/1 level CSU posted. Course the more things I do now, longer it's delaying the S/C.

I think he means he added spyder headlights to the build, not the website. I dont think spyders are sold with an LED or HID option. But vleds are a solid option though for the price.

After reading a lot on rear sway bars I finally ordered one (Amazon Prime!!) and installed today. Right off the bat I notice a big difference in handling corners. We're taking the boat down to Patagonia tomorrow so interested in seeing the difference while towing.
