I have been having issues with the stereo in my truck when I have my phone paired to it. The phone connects and I can make and receive phone calls without any problems. The problem is when I am listening to music from my phone. I have an iphone 6 and Entune premium. I can replicate the issue with my wife's iphone 6 plus as well.

I will either select bluetooth or simply start my truck if that is the input I was using last. The song will start skipping like a scratched CD. I can't do anything about it. Pausing then playing, restarting, or skipping make no difference. The only way to fix this is to turn my phone's bluetooth off and then back on again. After that everything is fine, but occasionally I will have another issue at this point.

    Issue 2
When playing music from my phone, the song preview on my head unit that shows the title and album artwork is incorrect. Say I start with song A. After song A is over, song B will play as it should but my screen still shows that it's playing song A. It will continue like this as until I switch to another screen and back to the audio screen. However, it will then get stuck again showing whatever is on the screen for all future songs until I switch screens again. This is a minor annoyance but an issue none the less.

So my questions are, are any of you having these issues? Is there a way to reset the head unit? Will disconnecting the battery work?

I am having Bluetooth issues lately in my truck. Slightly different than yours though. It doesn't want to connect when I get in the truck like it normally automatically connects. When it is connected and playing music, the screen will not show any music info and my steering wheel controls won't work. It just started doing this the last couple of days so I'm going to take it to the dealership.

Yea. I'm having the exact same issue. I also have an iPhone 6. I remember at one point it worked fine, but the software was updated for the stereo and ever since then, it's been "skipping."

That's the thing I have only had my truck since April so no stereo updates but maybe it's an Apple thing? I have updated my phone.

So I tried turning my wifi off and that made no difference. I would like to try a reset but don't want to reset the whole truck by removing the battery connection

So I was able to fix issue 1. I just removed ALL Bluetooth devices that were saved to my truck and then paired my phone again. No more skipping or connection issues.

Give it a shot. I stumbled on that solution by accident. My truck kept connecting to my wife's phone (iPhone 6 Plus) when she was inside the house and I was in the driveway leaving for work. I noticed there was never any skipping with her phone.
She has since re-paired her phone to my truck and the issue has not come back.

i just bought a pixel 2 xl. decided i try a different phone than an iPhone. i was actually surprised how easy the phone was to use. But when i tried pairing it to my entune, i could only get the phone and text messages to work. it would show what song was playing but no sound from the speakers. i tried to get it to work, but no such luck. I went back to using my iPhone. I haven't had any issues with iPhones with my Tundra, my VW or the accord we have.

I still haven't got mine to display text messages. But then again I haven't tried. Does anyone use the entune app?

Toyota really needs to go to Apple play. Never been a fan of entune

I’ve got this issue on my Tundra and on our 2017 4Runner. I talked to Toyota this morning and was told that they are aware and that they are developing a software update to address this. No ETA however.
