    In short, I finally get to donate blood!

    I haven't been able to donate blood since the late 1990s because I was stationed in England at the height of mad cow disease. The FDA loosened that restriction today.

    "And for people who spent time in European countries or military bases where there is a risk of transmission of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease or variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, the agency is eliminating recommended deferrals."
