ok. So after someone brought this up in another post I double checked my lights and now both marker/drl/blinker whatever you want to call it is burning, bubbling and melting...

Not sure how well you can see in photos:

There is a factory bulb in one and a replacement for factory in the other... is this something I can bug Toyota about under a 120k mike warranty???

(I tried searching but yielded 0 results)

Just replace the bulbs until you get new headlights. Toyota is not going to warranty new lights.

But... even if I replace the headlights they are going to just keep melting. And to be clear the bulbs are working fine, just the plastic headlight cover is melting...I guess I just don’t understand why it is happening, never noticed it in any other vehicle I have owned...

    Also, is this common?

Nah it was happening before that bulb got replaced. Just annoying because I wasn’t planning on replacing headlight assembly on this truck but it looks like total shit.

Not sure if your issue is similar to mine. I have a '15 and recently had to replace the original OEM front turn signal bulbs. I noticed the right bulb housing socket looked slightly burnt. Made me wonder if there's some kind of heat issue going on with these bulbs. If so, it could be a fire hazard.

Here's a video showing discoloration and slight charring of turn signal housing on a Tacoma due to excessive heat:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QwAeb1qoMUI

Looks like there's a TSB for those Tacomas for that issue. Also interesting to see the videomaker's solution of using a slightly different bulb.
