How much were you going to pay him? It came without brackets so I still have to get them.

You talking about the GoRhino's? They looked decent. By the way I'm waiting for my first F of Red Rocks assignment. I guess after you complete a minimum of 5hrs you can get on a LONG, LONG list to volunteer to man a table during certain concerts. Kind of a cool benny. Think it will be fun. Guess they do a lot of trail maintenance, clean up. things like that.

He mentioned that he would've taken $150, that would've been fine with me because of the absence of the brackets. I'm also keeping my eyes open for those bed rail things like what you just sold; I'm only really interested in the one that fits to the front of the bed so I can mount a fork clamp for my bicycles. I'm patient, the stuff turns up.

I wanted to keep my front rail, but the guy I sold it to asked if he was getting all three rails. Dang it. At least "T" was good for his word and let me have first dibs on the extender as promised. Like you said the stuffs turns up. I'll continue to keep my eyes open for stuff. You do the same. You may find something I'm looking for (or not) and visa versa. :broccoli:

The tusk actually belongs to the old guy. Mid 80's. He has found two. One smaller one. Found both on his gold claim near McGrath. He wouldn't tell me exactly where, but would take me. Another reason to go back up. In the photo you can see some Diamond willow. Google it. Very scarce and expensive. He makes all kinds of stuff with it. He also had the best restored vintage chainsaw collection I have ever seen. He also had one of the earliest Arctic Cat snowmobile I've ever seen. Seat rest was the gas tank. I took pics of everything when I was up there. My current avatar is a pic of two Schlumberger oil rigs in Dead horse, P Bay. Big, but not the biggest. If you look close you will see some tiny F-350's. I have pics of the 2nd largest rig in the world. All enclosed. Crazy stupid big. Made for going deep. Long pipes with computer guided smart drill heads. We had the only calibration facility up there. $2K a week before overtime. 16 hr shift. free food and lodging. 2 weeks on 2 off. Can make $120K working six months with overtime. Another reason to go back up.

Added McGard tailgate lock ($27) Good for when tailgate is down or if I ever forget to lock the gate. Nothing wrong with hose clamp, thought I'd give this a whirl.

Compared to what I've spent so far, this was a no brainer. The same day I got my truck I put on the hose clamp. Technically my first quasi mod.

Awesome. Much better in my opinion
Gun metal color dip over the chrome letters on the center cap would look good too

And dipping the side truck badges black :)

I tried the tail-gate lock. How in the world do you get the sleeve over the clamp followed by the tail-gate?

Installed AVS Bugflector II. Bolt on, not taped. 1/2 hr install. The only truck I have had that didn't have one was because they weren't making them yet. Better to have bugs go over than on windshield. Will also eliminate annoying wind noise when sun/moon roof is open.

    CAM00226.jpg

CAM00233.jpg If you have an 07 to 09, throw this crap out first. Wrong size. Already knew that from reviews.
CAM00234.jpg Use supplied spudger to remove the "essential black plastic thing" Keep blue spudger and put in tool box. Remove 5 screws .
CAM00228.jpg Remove ten fasteners for grill
CAM00230.jpg All 15 fasteners removed , notice my 10mm crescent
CAM00232.jpg Insert deflector and adjust accordingly so end holes are properly aligned. ( you will go to ACE and get proper fasteners. Reassemble and align and tighten everything up.
    CAM00231.jpg Obviously out of order.
    20150621_114251.jpg Finished product. 0.5 hr

I remember unscrewing the clamp first loosening the clamp until it separates. With the lock facing up ,you take loose end and run around the tailgate hinge and align it square like you would with a regular hose clamp and tighten. Took me maybe 5 minutes.

    That much?
I am actually thinking about that. By the way , Slee is pricey. Impressed with their shop. Very, very solidly built sliders. You definitely get what you pay for. High on my list.
