I already did. They didn't budge. That's why I decided to forgo drilling for now. Much more stress than a bungie will remotely do. They are beefier than they look in the pics. I may still drill the holes at some point if I need the added strength.Wouldn't add to much more cost wise, maybe 5 bucks or so.

The weather was actually decent today to finally do something outside for most of the day. Crappy now otherwise maybe get the drill out since at some point I'll probably want to anyways.

Finished up the D-rings. Had to remove fender well covers and have my son help. Lot's of fun, but the right way. I just sold my deck rails for $110. Didn't want to get too greedy. Put em on Craig's last night. Advertised for DC 6.5 ft bed. Todd, the buyer, showed up with a 2011 Crew. Still bought them. He'll have to do some trimming.

I did. Did you have to trim both ends for proper fit? I told Todd he may have to. I'll will send him a text to help him out. I didn't have anything to trim with.

I just matched up the holes with the end of the bar toward the front of the bed and cut the tailgate end. Cut them just after the last hole but should have left them a little longer.

Reese rubber sure step. Been on rear bumper for 9 months with heavy use. No signs of coming off. $8.00 for 2 pack. Used three. One left over= $12 bucks sort of. I like them. ("size matters" badge is self explanatory)

I've seen them on CL for around 100-150 for Tacomas. You can probably talk him down. I think it's great if you have a toy or something you are hauling..

Talked the guy down to $160. Then he tells me that I'll need new brackets. Apparently a minor detail to him. Old brackets were still on his tundra when he SOLD it!!! Bracket kit is anywhere from $45 to $54. I passed. Can't win em all.

Seller contacted me again about the extender. Agreed on $120. picking it up on Sat. Now I have to locate best deal for the missing brackets. (PT329-34070-BR) So far coming out of this smelling like a rose.

Just got back from Golden (NOT), with the never used $120 bed extender. For you CO guys it was way up Gennesee MT on the back side. Was 7am and lots of deer out. Yes, I was up there at 7am but worth it. Owner was going surfing. Yes surfing. Turns out he is a river surfer pro. Asked him if he has surfed the Turn-again Arm tidal bore near Anchorage. On his must do list. Got to find brackets now.

    CAM00205.jpg

    CAM00206-1.jpg

P5060132.jpg Not the extender, Surfing Turnagain bore tide near TUNDRA
Not the extender, $50K (conservatively) mastodon tusk dug up from the frozen TUNDRA (picture is tundra related) near McGrath, AK. (location found is secret, there may be more) Emphasis on frozen tusk, not petrified as the condition they are found in the lower 48. Tusk is still ivory and natural bluish color. Definition of "how cool is that?"

You are right. Any bed extender should work with some minor tweaks. I wanted the OEM that was available for the 07 at the time. The new OEM ones are stupidly designed in a V shape for some weird reason. Not too many people like them.

i just took a step bit made a big whole and a little hole. like you would see on the back of a telephone base so it would fit that screw thing and then slid it down so it cant come out from the smaller hole.

Ohhhh, you dog! LOL I was talking to this guy as well. I contacted him earlier in the week, but wasn't going to be in the area until Saturday. I texted him Saturday afternoon and he replied that someone was going to pick it up Sunday. Ninja'd.....

Possession is 9/10's of the law. haha. There were some GoRhino black steps for a DC on Craig's that went in one day. Wanted to at least look at them. Seems every one hates chrome. Maybe I'll leave mine the way it is to be different. Sorry about the Ninja'd. 70 mile round trip at 7AM. Early bird gets the worms.:bananadance:
