Looks like home. My parents said it's been pretty frigid this winter. I miss the snow sometimes.

@xtyfighterx . You have an very very (did I say very) nice truck! I am wiping my drool off my chin while I type this. Awesome build and love the pictures from stock to beast! I was wondering if you don't mind me asking a couple of questions regarding your build. 1) Were your headlights stock and did you do the conversion to what you have now (if so, do you have a thread on how you did it?) 2) Your TRD pro grill, does the black grill assembly match the metallic black, or did you color match that as well? Thanks for any advise you can give.

    Thanks man I appreciate that!
The headlights were my stock ones that I did the retrofit on. I don't have a write up I just asked a bunch of questions read slot of threads and YouTube was a big help. If you plan to jump yourself I could walk you threw it.

The pro grill is 202 gloss black not the metallic black but honestly if your truck is that Metallic black you won't even notice any difference only in direct sun light I think plenty of members here have the pro grill gloss black on their metallic black truck. My truck is just normal 202 gloss black and I bought some metallic black pocket fender flares which I had on for about a week and took off and I couldn't even tell just only in the sun and if I was up close.

Awesome! I've also have read the grill section of the Pro can also be removed and replaced in your existing grill and bulge, but need to be real careful not to make break any clips, but doable. In regards to the lights, I would love a walk through. Does your light control still work to adjust the level of your light? Your pics of the stages you brought your light mod are awesome. No rush on your part, I just got my car and you definitely have some projects you are doing. So whenever you have the spare time, a walk through on the light would be appreciated. Thanks so much and looks like 2017 is starting off great.

Message me when you are ready to build and I can help you out.

The lights still work with the leveling motor.

The hardest and most time consuming for me was adjusting the cut off. I'm really OCD me the first time I thought i had it perfect I drove it around for awhile and it was off just a little and it looked like crap so I had to rip them apart and do it again. Also the lenses on the 3rd gens are permasealed so it's a little harder to remove those I needed up cracking one lense just a little at the top. Thank god the hood hides it.

All in all it's not hard just get the kit off of theretrofitsource.com some JB weld and butyl to reseal that's all u need for a basic retro. And tools I used were small flat tip screw driver a butter knife a deemed tool and various screw drivers. Any way I can get into more detail when you get to that point.

    Great build!
Did you have to fabricate a bracket for the light bar in the grill, or was it in a kit? And what light bar did you use?

Pull the grill off there is a support that runs across the bottom I just trapped right into that just need a light bar and two screws or two bolts and two nuts however you decided.

Light bar is eyourlife 32in from eBay going on 4 years with it

Each time I see your retrofit it makes me want to split mine open and add an LED DRL strip, they look so nice!

I had mine without a led strip for a year it bothered me everyday lol I actually need to crack them back open and swap out that filler panel with a chrome one so the led reflects better it looks good but I know it would be a lot brighter if I had it chrome and not painted. I have a set of oem lights I might open up when I get home we will see. Maybe I'll just build a new pair and resell them

At first I wanted something not so fancy, but after all that work i think it deserves a little fancy, you went with the Morimoto XSB LED DRL's right? How do you like them?

I have the XSB LED Demon Eyes in there now, but they don't stand out like an LED DRL strip. My bezel is black as well, but the LED's don't really reflect much, just shine straight out, right?

Also did you make your own diffuser? Just pick up the drop ceiling light panel stuff, cut to size, and good to go? Did you use any product to secure the diffuser in there?

    Thanks!

    Yes it's the 18in strip.

Originally I didn't go with the diffuser and it was ok just looked like a strip without any reflection the diffuser softened it up and made it look like it was reflecting so it fills the whole panel with light.

And yes ceiling tile from Home Depot used a deemed to cut then the pressure from the house and trim keeps it in place but I put instant adhesive super glue to hold it in permenat just for the piece of mind

Ya the led strip is easy to install just take that filler panel out drill a hole in it where the excess and wires will run out and you can mount it on the bottom or top of the filler I did the top becuase originally I didn't want the diffuser and top hid the strip well. Retro is actually orettt easy just getting the lenses off and being paitent is what's hard. And also make sure you give yourself 2-4 days for paint to cure. You can set your oven on low and leave the door open then put the parts in there to cure and release the gases if not you will get a haze inside the lens from the chemicals. Oven cleaner strips the chrome off the parts you want painted really well to.

And if you do the led switchback strip to make it work properly on a 3rd gen you need to disable the factory drl by snipping the small grey wire in the j29 plug under the dash if you don't then the only time the strip will be white is with the headlights on. And orange the rest

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I already retrofitted them so the hard part of opening them with the permaseal is done with. I resealed them with Retrorubber from TRS, should open up nice and easy.
