Hey tundra brother quick question just picked up my 6112/5160 kit and kyb top hats kit. The 6112s came with hardware so did the kyb. The washers on the kyb are larger which do I use?

I would use the ones that came with the top hat kit. I just did mine a few weeks ago and I had to get the washers and bushings from the dealership ( 60$, WTF) because I ordered top hats without hardware. And had the long weekend scheduled to do the work and wanted it done ( took bout 1/2 day to build the shocks, install 6112's front , and 5100 rear along with new adjustable UCA's. Actually a lot easier of a job than I expected.

Well I ended up using the washers that came with the 6112 kit. They seemed to have a more snug fit on the rubber bushings. I have found out that kyb is the only complete kit to get.

Thanks for the youtube link I followed how he installed them. I ended up going with the 3rd slot on the 6112s that was supposed to give 1.9 lift. My overall was 39.5 both rears, 39.5 passenger front and 39 driver front. Not sure why the driver side is .5 lower then the passenger side

Just curious. Where did you buy your 6112’s. I thought they were on back order everywhere. I’m thinking about putting these on my tundra.

4wheelparts.com got my 6112s and 5160s for $900 bucks unassembled. Kyb top hat kit from Amazon. Sm5737 I believe $25.

To me the smoothness of the ride is night and day compared to the oem suspension

Dumb question but when assembling them how do you orient the top mounting bolts to line up with the lower mounting hole that goes to the LCA?

On the top hat theres an arrow that says out. Line that up perpendicular to the mounting hole. Once the top hat is back in the upper control arm. The bottom of the shock will move some if the hole isnt lining up perfect
