Hmmmmm.....tempting. I've done a LOT of reading on here about lifts/leveling kits. I still think I'm gonna hold out for the TotTec 3/1 kit. How do these two options compare? I know that ToyTec is a complete kit and this deal is just for the front coilovers......how do the two coilover options compare though?

I'd be glad to piece together my own kit if I found a good deal somewhere....

Cheapest I've seen. They normally really go for 730 to 800 assembled, so the marked down price is a little inflated there. 699 is cheaper than they had for the recent holiday sales

What is the difference or benefits of the 5100 versus 6112's?

6112 is more geared to off-road, beefier body I think like 3/4” .. new could instead of re-using factory coils on install, for some this makes a difference because they can come preassembled for easier install. Finer height adjustment settings. That being said I have 5100 on all 4 corners on mine. Paid $350 for all 4 corners. That’s only half what these 6112 cost for fronts alone, and that is a good deal for assembled. Still for my application didn’t need the extra differences

Great: I’m on top setting. Two coach shims driver side, one passenger which corrects the ‘tundra lean’ .. coach +3 shackles in the rear, trd rear sway. Truck is a lot more planted to the road. There are some bridge dividers I have to hit daily and it just soaks them up now instead of getting bounced 6 inches in the air.

6112s are a Cadillac ride to the 5100s ragged out civic. Not even an apples to apples comparison. Even for daily driving, the 6112s shit on the 5100s. Once I bit the bullet on 6112s instead of 5100s again, I realized how stiff and jarring the 5100s actually were.

Only way I'd be interested is if Bilstein would address why the first gen access cabs and single cabs aren't recommended to go above 1 inch on these. They need to fix what ever the problem is or at least offer a solution

I think everyone is getting their shops mixed up. Original post says boss off-road in the pic, not boss4x4

They are transitioning websites right now according to their Facebook page. Boss 4x4 is Boss Offroad.

There's a boss 4x4 located in california and then there's boss4x4s located in virginia. This deal is by boss4x4s, which they just changed the name to boss-offroad. Hope this clarifies the shops.

id hope it’s not apples to apples .. you’re comparing a $250ish product vs $750ish product .. something 3x as expensive should clearly outperform. OP was asking to basically level out and drive on pavement daily and tow a trailer. Everyone can spend their money how they want, but the question is are 6112 3x improvement over 5100? Likely not for this application. That savings can be put towards better shackles and possibly leafs which will make a bigger improvement towing

Yes. They are 3x the improvement. 5100s are jarring and don’t do well when controlling larger, heavier wheel and tire setups. The ones who think the 5100s are awesome are those coming from stock shocks with 100k miles on them or spacer kits. Having ran all of the above over the past 10 years....the 6112 is well worth the moderate cost.

And where is there any mention of improvements for towing? You’re in the wrong thread....

The guy I was responding to as well as the guy I believe you were as it was directly under his post were both asking the same thing about a basic level with pavement driving and towing a trailer. No one mentioned wheels and tires. The 5100 would suit that purpose just fine. This is definitely a good deal, but no one needs to sit here and say 6112 are needed for daily driving application at 3x the cost
