Big Boy 4014

I was wondering if anybody else here is intrigued by Big boy 4014.

Seen it once, made it's trip to South Texas to Kingsville few years back

There's a nonfunctional but restored Big Boy (don't recall which number) in a museum in Denver that I've been to a couple of times, the thing is just enormous. I was thinking about trying to make it to where ever it (4014) happens to be (Utah or Wyoming) this summer on one of my motorcycle sojourns to check it out. The 150th anniversary of Transcontinental Railroad was in Utah yesterday, so I missed that, but 4014 was supposed to be there having traveled from Wyoming. I'm not a train buff, but thought it would be cool to see one, and it gives me a riding destination.

Seen the 844 here in St. Louis a couple years back and I'm hoping the 4014 will make the trip in the near future.

That thing is badass. I love the articulation to get around corners.

Well, I showed up at the scheduled location (Sidney, NE) and the locomotive was running 2.5 hours behind schedule. I couldn't wait.
