The Toyota 5.7 beat out the Nissan 5.6 and Dodge 5.7 for the best V8 exhaust note. Nissan put up a fight but the Toyota definitely sounds the best.

For me there is no better sounding V8 from the factory than an LS motor with just an exhaust on it.

I took my stepdad for his first ride yesterday in the Tundra with DirtyDeeds 10”. It’s all he could talk about to the lumber yard and back. He couldn’t wrap his noggin around a “Toyota” sounding so V8ish. It was 45 degrees out and he kept his window down the entire way back because he loved the sound. I was cracking up, and wasn’t expecting it (he’s a Duramax guy).

I love the sound of my 5.7 L with dirty deeds 6 inch mufflers! Not downplaying that at all. I owned a 2006 trailblazer SS with an 6.0 LS2. I had a single 14 inch magnaflow. That thing just sounded so beautiful under high rpm. I go to the Toyota Grand Prix now and again here in Long Beach. My favorite sound is the Corvettes. It does something to the pit of my stomach when I hear it LOL.

Mine sounds okay, but it sounds more like a sports car v8 than a truck v8.

Keith's 10" Catback is one of THE best mods I've done to my 2010! IPT's Valve body upgrade with Shiftkit didn't hurt either:devil:

Just played it with speakers, I always liked the sound of the Dodge Ram in person but this one sounded weak.

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram Bighorn with the 5.7 Hemi, and it does sound better in person than this one sounds like on line.
It’s very hard to capture sound in a quality manner via video/phone.

Not to detract from Corvette/LS worship but the '68 GT40 running the Le Mans track is the pinnacle of cross-plane V roar.

Gotta be careful with the "Off The Shelf" exhaust systems for our engines. If you're somebody that wants to buy an exhaust system, ONE time, then call Keith Carty at 1-760-877-4234 and ask him about his catback systems and why they're your best bet, for our multi-valve engines. Get all the great sound you want, with NO drone and keep your low-end torque. I have no connection with Keith, just a well pleased customer.

I wish our Tundras had a nastier idle tone. I have 6" BAMuffler setup on mine, and while it sounds great when I get on it, the idle tone is still just "meh" - pretty quiet.

I think I know what yinz are getting at. The days of the lopey mean idle are gone. Emissions killed it. While that lope sounds awesome it is extremely inefficient for complete combustion.

Yeah, but a guy can dream. Currently planning a future project - classic 73-79 Ford P/U powered by a 514 stroker. Still just a "plan" that may never happen, but if it does - that one will have a nice idle.
